My hospital birth experience is pretty typically I'm afraid to admit. I've always wanted a home birth but with 3 of my child I had to be induced. One was 2 weeks over and I of course was overwhelmed by the statistics my OB gave me. Then with number 2 he was IUGR and had to be induced. Number 3 also was a week over and again, I got worried because there was calcification and low fluid (had low fluid with them all actually).

With James I finally started labor on my own but my water had been broken for so long and I had a fever that I agreed to an augmentation. I did have doulas for birth 3 and 4 which helped but my births were very intervention ladden. Jessie (number 3) birth was the easy as I was totally prepared. James really suprised me, lol. As I was expecting another fairly easy delivery.
