shocked in a terrible way. Not that I ever cared for a german act on ESC before, but I'm probably the only person on this planet that is not a fan of Lena and her weird english. I honestly don't like the song. ;_;

I'm more... shocked in a... totally neutral way ^^;;. Don't worry, you're not alone - I'm not a fan of hers either. But this is just so totally unexpected! I honestly expected Azerbaijan to win since they spent so much money on their show. That they weren't even in the top 3 was even more surprising! Not that I would have voted for her. I didn't like the song and her performance was subpar.

Who was your favourite?

Mmh, I thought almost every country had something special and to be really honest I don't remember which song belongs to county X because almost all of them sing in english. But what shocked me was that horrible song of the UK. I mean WTH was this? What a disappointment.

Azerbaijan? Was that the Apricot girl? *confused*

*lol* UK - I don't know what they were thinking. I was actually feeling sorry for the poor kid. But I think athe BBC they saw it coming (I mean, did they honestly think they could even get into the top 10 with this?). But I heard that the Swedes were really shocked that they got kicked out in the semi-finale.

No, the Apricot girl was from Armenia (and I love that song *hides*). Azerbaijan was start number 1, the girl with the blue dress with the blinking LEDs. The Azerbaijanis really wanted to win. There were ads for her on every ESC site on the web and they paid a lot of money for the choreographer of Beyoncé. Didn't help much, though.

Holy. Fucking. Shit.

I haven't even seen it yet and the thought that GERMANY won is kinda... what the fuck happened? Did I switch to evil doppelganger universe while I wasn't looking? Should I look out for moustaches on everybody?

(and now I really need to get to that tab with your MP3s >_>;; *lazy bitch*)

Listening to it doesn't really make it more understandable. Not much anyway. But I still think that for once it's not a song we have to be embarrassed about. Although during the USFO shows Lena wasn't my favourite (did you watch them? There were some people who were definitely better than her but, yeah, I suppose my taste isn't mainstream enough /snob)

I think part of it is jury voting and part is economic reasons. The song itself... I would say it only flew due to heavy promotion and the overall quality being a lot worse this year.

And no, I didn't watch it, I was in Dutchland already. I do know, however, that SPON forums rooted for her opponent in the final.

Also, why the fuck didn't Kristina make it to the final? Her song is awesome!

Yeah, I suppose it's also jury voting that kept songs like the ones of Israel or Ireland in the contest. In the juries are the old cronies who all know each other and vote for songs either their buddies wrote or that sound like stuff they'd have sung BACK IN THE 60's ><;; It's just block voting on a different level ( ... )
