Don't you wish you had conversations like this with YOUR sister

Mar 25, 2009 00:48

Soli:  I hate stories that make Hakkai always one-up Sanzo... D:<

Xpyne: --Like Hakkai's the mommy, who chastises Bad Boy Sanzo?

Soli:  Uhg.  He does not.

Xpyne:  It's more like if Hakkai's the mommy, then Sanzo's the Mean Dad who tells his woman what's what.

Soli: ::laughs maliciously::

Xpyne: And doesn't love her. X3

Soli: :DDD --And who has a thing ( Read more... )

Haha, which probably get more "fascinating," the later at night it becomes. XB

*claps loudly*

I see you two are feeling the effects of the flood of alternative pairings that has been rearing it's head lately.

You two are priceless. But seriously, I agree with you both 100%. What about fanfic that makes Sanzo a complete bastard or render Goku like he doesn't have half a mind? ugh. Back on topic, maybe someone should write that as an AU, Sanzo and Goku in the poolhouse. Hrm.

::laughs:: Well, I suspect the anime (unintentionally) is to blame for many of the character stereotypes which emerge in a lot of fanfiction--and not even necessarily from those of us who have read the entire manga to date (numerous times over).

I mean, Xpyne and I were also talking the other week about the fact that you'll see stories where Sanzo gets all emo when it's raining, and writers 'referencing' supposed instances in the past, before the journey, where Goku has had to deal with Sanzo's 'tude during a storm, which may range anywhere from 'mopey' to 'step foot within 100 yards of me and DIE.'

But Goku obviously shouldn't be confused, then, by Sanzo's anti-social behavior when it's raining, as he clearly is in the manga, the first time Hakkai makes a deal out of it. :/ And certainly Sanzo never flipped the fuck out on Goku like he did during that episode of the anime that started the Homura arc, lolz ( ... )

UGH! You're right about the whole emo rain thing. That always drove me friggin nuts. Manga ftw, definitely. The anime series are just not up to par. However, Requiem is a guilty pleasure.

And anyway, Sanzo isn't emo, just can be emotionally retarded :) Goku knows how to read him and that's what counts.

Amen on the whole rain as a plot device, light on the depressing and leading to good smut amirite? Speaking of good smut,thanks for the Mosh rec!

XD ♥

But even Sanzo will admit that Hakkai can be scary sometimes, especially when he's laughing asleep, right? Just...you know, every now and then? :3

Haha, o, well, I'm not denying that Hakkai can be fucking terrifying sometimes (XDDDD), but it has a greater effect in a story if Hakkai quietly bides his time and pwns Sanzo maybe once, on an issue where Sanzo was being stupid/a dick anyway, rather than by him having a "sassy" comeback for every little thing Sanzo says, lol.

You're absolutely right about that! :D
Hm...*tries to remember how she has been writing him anyway...I hope it wasn't like that... >3>;
