I just registered to go to Convention Alley, the Canadian Harry Potter conference from June 19-22! I went to the first one in 2004 and had a blast and met lots of great people (they introduced me to LiveJournal!) and I'm excited to go back. ^.^ Is anyone else planning to go?

Today is the final day for the cheaper early registration rates. More Read more... )

Man that's tempting... but I don't know if I can get the time off and I don't have a credit card! *cries* Want to meet up one night during the conference?

I'm actually going to be in Ottawa for a week afterwards, so I'd rather meet up then! Thursday night might be okay, but my evenings should be tied up with the conference. Though last time they had individual tickets for people to go to evening events - so if you can't do the whole thing maybe closer to the event you could join me for an evening. Also, I know you and can offer my credit card if you do need to use it, as we have arranged before. :D

I will have to talk to the people I work for and see if they can do without me those days. Evening events may work out better though.

I'd still love to meet up the week after. I don't know the hours I'll be working, so we'll have to make plans closer to then.

Not sure there will be tickets for evening things, that'll be decided closer to the event. Credit card not needed for registration. Payment can be mailed in if necessary. Or heck, I can meet people somewhere in Ottawa and pick up payment if need be. Am very flexible. :D

I've got a fold out couch for you, or anyone you can vouch won't rob me blind or murder us in our beds. There's floor space as well for anyone who doesn't mind roughing it a bit. Two bathrooms in the house, close to shops and entertainment, and a twenty minute bus ride from downtown if they're without car or would rather leave it home (there's street parking here).

And since it's close to home, I might register as well if I can scrape up the cash.

If you can't scrape up that much cash, last time they had individual tickets for people to go to evening events - so if you can't do the whole thing you could come to something(s) at least.

And, wow, thank you for the offer! I am planning to stay with my best friend in Ottawa South, but I am considering getting a room for one of the weekend nights so I don't have to make the commute. I will consider your offer and will let you know! That's very generous of you. :)

I may look into that. At the very least, maybe we can meet up for coffee or something, yeah? :)

No worries. I figured you'd be staying with your friend, but thought I'd offer anyhow. And if you know anyone who's stuck and you really trust them- I don't mind taking strangers in for a few nights. Our house may not *appear* as clean as a hostel/hotel, but harbours many fewer germs. :D

Coffee sounds great! :D

Thank you for the offer! I really will consider it for a night or two if you are closer to Ottawa U than my friend. I think she's a 40 minute bus ride away. And I will let you know if I know anyone well who needs a place to crash. Thank you! ^.^
