Looks like I'll be getting an iPod for Christmas!!! (This one, in blue or green.) Thanks again for all your suggestions about MP3 players. I'm amazed that the price has come down on the Nanos so much in one year. The new iPod Nano is $150 for a 4 gig and my brother got a 4 gig Nano last year for $250! O.O This one has a video screen - not sure how ( Read more... )

Thank you! It will be so cool to finally have an iPod. I'm slowly catching up on technology. Got a digital camera last Christmas. Now I just need to get a cell phone I guess!

Happy Hanukkah! I love your icon. Very pretty! I was thrilled to find some Hanukkah wrapping paper yesterday (very blue and bright and festive) and am wrapping many presents in it. I'll confuse some of my Christmas-celebrating friends and family I'm sure, but it would be fun if more people celebrated Christmukkah anyway! ^.^

Congrats! I hope you enjoy! I listen to mine at work all the time.

Earphones: get whatever you feel comfortable with. It comes with ear buds, but if you prefer a different type, they'll generally work as well.

Accessories: iPods have quite a few accessories, most of which can be found at regular retail stores. It depends on what you're primarily gonna use if for. I have a ear bud lanyard so I can wear it around my neck so I don't have to worry about dropping it or anything. It's very handy. I also have a case to put it in for when I'm toting it somewhere so that it doesn't get damaged in transit as it were.

I do suggest getting a regular AC adapter so you can charge it without having to hook it into your computer. I swear by mine. I found mine at Wal-mart, but I'm sure they sell them most anywhere.

Good luck and have fun!

Interesting - a case or a skin? I'll check out both. And it sounds like an AC adapter is the way to go.

You can check out either one and see which you prefer. I have a soft sided case that I like just fine.

Yeah, it does make things a lot easier.

I haven't used my personal cd player since I got my iPod. The ear buds, it kind of depends. I have problems with them falling out of my ears (which might just be my ears' fault!), but I like them for being so small and easy to transport (I have a shuffle and often carry it in my pocket). I don't have any accessories, which I'm okay with, but I know there are some nice ones out there . . .

Anyway, iPods are fun and fabulous, so yay! :)

Would the game you're thinking of be Carcassone?

I have that, as well as Settlers of Catan. By the way, there's a free online Catan game we should play some time. Let me know if you're interested! ;)

That way you can test your mettle against some serious competition. :P

YES!! That's exactly it! Thank you! ^.^

I would LOVE to play the online Catan game with you! I knew about it and have been meaning to look it up. That'll tide me over until I get the actual game. (Is the online one just the basic, or also the expansions?)

It has the expansions as well. Have you played with both the Cities & Knights and Seafarers expansions?

The website is games.asobrain.com. They have a few java-based games there, although Catan is called Xplorers since I don't think they are actually affliated with the game-makers. You sign up and choose a username, and then you play in various lobbies. I usually play in the non-ranking lobby. My username is Wash. ;)

Let me know what your username is after you've signed up, and hopefully we can cross paths there (I'll also look for you on MSN if I'm up for playing). :)

I've played the cities and knights expansion and enjoyed it a lot. The seafarers expansion I haven't tried but my friends say they don't like it.

Thanks! I'll let you know when I sign up!
