Usually I don't watch TV in the summers. This started back in 2001 when I took a French immersion course in Quebec for 5 weeks, completely cut off from TV, and by the time I got home all the summer TV shows had started - and I am nothing if not loathe to come in on something late. I'm in love with the preview for Chuck, but not the execution. It was much better by the end of the episode, though.

I think I saw the Chuck preview after hearing SO MUCH buzz about it that I was expecting to love it, and it did seem hilarious. But I think the 10 or so minutes total of serious Alias-type scenes at the beginning pissed me off, because there was no explanation of what the fuck was going on, especially when they kept cutting back to this geeky guy. Even though I knew (from the preview) where it was going, it could have been a lot smoother in the beginning.

The Dexter books (Dearly Devoted Dexter, and Darkly Dreaming Dexter, and there's a new one not out yet called Dexter in the Dark) are really good. They're not Grade A Premium Literature, but I think they're delicious.
