1. I twisted my ankle again today. Sprained, this time, I think. I was going down an uneven hill, so that's a bit better excuse than unfettered walking. But as soon as I fell down I knew it was bad. Painful. It's still really painful now, even sitting doing nothing. The 'squelching' sound it makes (or maybe I just feel it?) when I move it makes me ( Read more... )

Ow!!!

You probably already know this, but just in case:

Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation

(for the sprained ankle) :)

What kind of pain is it when you're sitting doing nothing?

It was worse yesterday, but today it's just a steady hot throb. One side hurt worse yesterday and I iced that the most; that side hasn't swollen that much and feels better today. The side I didn't ice much is now the swollen and throbby side. :S

I've been elevating it as I watch TV, and icing it, and I didn't go to work today so I'm resting (though I will really try to go tomorrow). Not sure how to do the compression part other than putting on an elastic bandage when I go for a walk, but that won't be for a while.

-Ouchie! Hope it's not serious!

-Lost was okay. There were some interesting answers we got from the island backstory but it wasn't the most exciting thing. I think the finale is going to kick ass though!

-Wonderfalls is okay as well. Nothing I was addicted to. It's kinda cute and all but I don't know how long I would have watched it hadn't been cancelled. I haven't watched it in a long while thugh. Maybe I'll give it another go after I watch Gilmore s5.

I don't expect it to be serious, but I can still barely walk on it. :( I wish I knew what happened to my crutches. They'd come in handy right now.

Cool. I'm glad to know some good stuff came up in the first 50 minutes. From what I saw, we already knew the Others were faking and that they offered Michael to free their man.

I'm starting to suspect I may end up agreeing with you about Wonderfalls. It's interesting, but nothing terribly exciting as of yet.

You know... I could have done without the sound effects. 'squelch' Ouch.

How are you doing today? Any better?

Maybe I should have had a violence and gore warning on my post. :P

Um, yeah, it's better. It doesn't feel quite so agonizing when I sit and do nothing, just kind of a general steady throb. It's really swollen up though, especially around the ankle. Looks like there's an egg on my ankle. I can still barely walk on it, so I wasn't able to go into work. I just took a sea salt bath, and it feels a bit better now. I've been elevating the foot and icing it while watching DVDs. Just finisished another Wonderfalls ep. Still not addicted. :)

Take care of it! And stop injuring yourself! :-P

Oh well, maybe we built up Wonderfalls too much and you were too hyped up to appreciate it. :-( That's too bad. Make sure you watch to the end though, at least then you'll know what we're all talking about!

I ended up really liking it, actually! It's not as good as I was expecting - it's not mindblowing, better than Firefly or anything - but I can now say I am addicted. I need that intro song. And I'm glad it ended with some kind of resolution. :)

Lost posed a few interesting questions I will say...

And yes! I also was happy that the hippies won!! Whoo!!

I have digital cable, so we could record one and watch the other. It's kewl!

I didn't catch any of the backstory other than the 'free our man and bring four of your ppl back and we will free you and your son', which I had already guessed. I'm downloading the ep. now (the 'watch Lost episodes free on abc.com!' thing is only for Americans, grr) and I expect that at least a few intruiguing things came up in the first 50 minutes of Michael's What I Did Last Summer Week.

My VCR is broken so I couldn't record one. :(

The whole time frame is somewhat confusing. I mean, I was surprised when it was only almost two weeks since Michael went in search of Walt. Of course, Real Time and TV Time are two separate issues.

The thing was that they wanted him to bring back those specific people. This was a question I posted on my journal as well. It makes you kinda wonder.

Next week is the two hour finale. I wonder what sort of things will happen then?

Yes, I know about the specific people. That doesn't surprise me either, as they have always differentiated between the 'worthy' and 'unworthy'. So I'd guess the Others think those four fit one of those categories and will treat them appropriately. Or something.

For some reason my DVR didn't record the first hour of TAR. Still I got to see the ending and was most pleased with how it turned out. :)

As am I! The whole episode was pretty good though. I'm going to miss TAR. I'm going to have to find the first seasons on DVD to watch to fill my craving. :)

When the Game Show network replayed all the Amazing Race seasons Nyssa and I taped them. Yup, all of them. I just need to find time now to transfer the tapes to DVDS. :)

How's the ankle doing? I know how painful a sprain can be, I think it was about a 7 weeks before Convention Alley that I did the same to mine.

The ankle is better, though still swollen and very sore. The swelling is improving a lot, though, as I'm icing and elevating it. I'm glad it's a long weekend! Hopefully I'll be able to walk to work and back on it come Tuesday.
