Does anyone know if there is anything you can substitute for tomatoes in chili? Or at least reduce the amount of tomatoes and then thickening it some other way?
I just found out that I have to make a pot of chili for Monday (for a Run for the Cure fundraiser), and I still can't eat tomatoes. Ideally I'd like to make something I can actually eat. I'm not sure if I'm making vegetarian or meat chili yet, so suggestions for either are welcome. Worst case scenario I guess I'll just use one can of crushed tomatoes (instead of my usual 4) and hope it tastes okay in the end.
And while we're at it, what do you like to put in chili? Give me some ideas!
