My grandmother has lung cancer. They had to take out about three-quarters of a lung.

I understand a little. My grandmother has dementia and lupus, so she's going pretty quickly.

...I understand this too well. My dad died from lung cancer, but for him it's too late.

I wrote a research paper about Lung Cancer. Basically, by taking out 3/4 of a lung, it removes most of the tumors and increase her chance for more years to live However, the disadvantage of this is that she will have difficulty breathing due to being dependent on the remaining healthy lungs.

I suggest taking great care for those healthy lungs.
