Shape of My Heart
Like everyone, Yuri Fujimori occasionally had days that didn’t seem worth getting out of bed for. The type of day where things went from bad, to worse, then to a point where she wondered, “why do I even bother to try?” and that feeling then sent her into a downward spiral of depression.
Today, had been one of those kinds of days.
Upon arriving home, Yuri immediately kicked off her shoes and shed her coat, cursing darkly under her breath as the migraine that had grown steadily as the day wore on made her wince in pain. She headed quickly over to the kitchen, locating a bottle of aspirin and pouring a couple into her palm before drinking them down with a glass of cold water. She held the cup up to her forehead, sighing softly as the cool temperature soothed her a little.
That’s when a familiar, deep voice asked softly. “Darling? You all right?”
Turning her head slowly, Yuri found herself gazing at the concerned face of her impossibly handsome husband, Jiro, and instantly, all the things that had made her feel so horrible began to fly from her mind.
“Tired. And I have a migraine,” she admitted, but walked over to him, a small smile possessing her lovely features. “But seeing you makes me feel a little better already.”
He didn’t say a word, just swept her into his waiting arms and held her close, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead as he nuzzled affectionately at her hair. “Bad day?”
“The worst,” she groaned, nudging at his elegant neck with her nose before tilting her head towards his. “Kiss me and make it worth the trouble of getting out of bed, please?”
There was a low, brief chuckle. “If your humor is still intact that’s probably a good sign, my love,” he reached out and caressed the side of her face, making her lean in to his touch before he cupped her chin and dipped his head towards her. “But I’m more than happy to grant that wish of yours.”
The small smile widened slightly before his lips descended on hers, and in an instant, everything else ceased to matter. The only thing important to her was Jiro: holding her tightly against him as he made her forget her sorrows with his kiss.
At that moment, Yuri remembered exactly why she had fallen in love with this man. Jiro was the most giving, wonderful person she’d ever met. He understood her better than anyone. He loved her and cherished her and always found ways to make her feel special and beautiful. She found herself loving him more and more with each passing day and it was during times like this, that she knew there was no one else that could make her feel this way. He was the one person who would have that kind of hold on her heart and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Slowly, he parted from her and stroked at her hair, tucking some stray strands behind her ear as a warm, loving smile was sent in her direction. The look in his eyes bordered on mischief as he leaned in close again, nuzzling his nose against hers. “Did that do the trick?”
She leaned against him; her hands straying over his broad shoulders as she returned his playful look with one of her own. “Maybe…but to be absolutely certain, I think I need another” she leaned up and kissed him again, only this time it was more passionate, sparks of desire igniting between them.
Yuri gasped against Jiro’s mouth as a low, sensual growl escaped her mate and he dragged her closer to him as the kiss escalated in heat, punctuating his attentions with bites and nips at her mouth. Arching against him and twisting her fingers into his hair, she murmured. “Make that several…
“I think I can do better than that,” he whispered, making her shiver in anticipation as he suddenly scooped her into his arms and began carrying her back towards their bedroom. “After all, what kind of mate would I be if I didn’t make my wife forget all about her bad day by seducing her mercilessly?”
She giggled, wrapping her arms around his neck and resting her head in the junction between his neck and his shoulder. “Sounds like just the cure I need,”
He just grinned before kissing her again; effectively ending any conversation for a long while and making what had started out as a horrible day become, almost magically, a perfect one.
