When I read this scene in the manga, I teared up a little. That was when I truly began liking Itachi. He's such a stupid martyr, guh. ♥_♥

I HATE ITACHI, WHY IS HE SO STUPID AND OBSESSIVELY SELF-RELIANT

...I am a one-trick pony, but I liked the consideration of Madara here so much. Most people just kind of ignore Itachi's perceptions of Madara and Sasuke's posited relationship, but this was wonderful in the way it addressed that. The writing was also appropriate--panicked, and still resigned. You are such a polymath >(
