So Jomy is a godmodding psychic to a ridiculous degree (go to his
INFO POST for a more detailed breakdown). Though most of those won't work while you're conversing with him through the NVs, what he can do is be a radar for huge bursts of emotion if your character doesn't/can't guard them from being picked up by your resident psychics.
This empathy ability is unfortunately passive in that Jomy can't control it -- so if he's not guarded against & if he's not specifically guarding himself (which he... rarely does...) he will feel/hear it. Distance (in terms of city-sized distance) doesn't matter; if it's strong enough to pierce through the rest of the buzz that's Siren's Port? He'll be pinged.
As such, I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me which of your character(s) that:
a) Jomy could hone into/pinpoint if they have an unfortunate moment of Really Strong Feelings (either good or bad) & the degree/intensity with which he can feel them (aka, are they guarded?)
AND
b) the level of mind-reading he would be able to do (if he ever has a reason to, I mean) with your character if they ever interact face-to-face.
For your convenience, I put together a scale (of mental shielding) for comparison's sake:
☆☆☆☆☆ | you have no defenses to speak of. more open than an open book.
★☆☆☆☆ | ... sorry, you're an open book to him. on top of that, you have a tendency to project your thoughts/feelings.
★★☆☆☆ | some shielding, but if Jomy decides to read your mind, he's going to read your mind.
★★★☆☆ | shields are up! he'll know they're up, but if he puts in the effort (to varying degrees), he'll get past them.
★★★★☆ | holy crap so many shields. Jomy needs to really fight you to read your thoughts & even then, he may not always succeed.
★★★★★ | cannot break into your mind AT ALL. are you a god or a machine?
