I'm just so excited it fits and I'm not fighting it and the person who's going to kill me. That's such a novel feeling. Like I said, I didn't dread putting on my armor last night...at least not the helm. The arms are still annoying, but we're going to work on them.
I, for one, LOVE your dork-dork-dork posts. When I was pulling out winter bedding this weekend, I came across the pink & green quilt my mother and I made for me when I was 12 years old, and giggled about your garb. Can't wait to see the pictures!
I am not the world's most satisfied customer, as it took for-freakin'-ever to get my helm and it's really small. Like I have to put "In case of emergency, remove helm very SLOWLY" on it, or someone will break my nose trying to yank it off me. I had to file/grind about a half an inch of steel off it to make sure I wouldn't end up with the cheek pieces cutting my face.
That being said, it's very well made and pretty and it's very comfortable once I get it on. If you're able to spend a bit of money, try Anshelm or Windrose. They both do *stunning* work.
John ordered his guantlets from them, as well as his knees and has been very happy with them.
ideas for your helm...

Your helm which one is it from ashcroft? i might have some tips for you blacksmithing to get it to fit better...i.e. take it to your local favorite blacksmith (not me I am in Michigan..LOL) and have him heat up the grill and stretch it just a little.... Glad you got a helm to work with ..LOL nothing like putting on your sweaty Hat then someone else's... how did your shield deal ever work out?

It's the basic basic stainless helm, like the one here: http://ashcraftbaker.com/12g%20Spangen.htm, but mine's stainless. I can't find the original picture.
I hadn't thought of having the grill stretched a hair and that's a really good idea! Thank you!
