[it was so abrupt, he wouldn't have had much time to respond if they had a killer intent. perhaps it was because the sun was bright in the sky and he'd been so used to most of his dangers appearing before him at night. did he not learn? he was a magus. honestly, even outside of the Holy Grail War he should have been ready for anything. he let his guard down, and he most likely would have been killed. unless fate fancied him to dodge... instinct told him to turn around, eyes widening as he did his best to maintain his composure. people usually didn't sneak up on him like this unless they had something wicked in mind.

in any other case, he wouldn't have been so worried. but he knew for a fact that there was no one behind him just moments ago. and right as he turns around with his fists clenched, just in case--]
