Patience please

My old computer still works, but the wifi card is going out. I haven't been able to get online with it for at least 2 days.

Which means a new computer and getting all my stuff set up on said new computer.

New computer is good, but good luck with getting everything set up. That takes forever.

It's so weird that the old computer has been having issues for a month or two now, and absolutely couldn't connect to the internet at all for two days. Once I bought a new computer, the old one seems fine again.

Old computer is 6 1/2 years old. Most of my computers only make it about 3-4 years, so this one has done great. And it's still fine offline. I may set it up elsewhere in the house and just use it for offline stuff. We'll see.

Of course, having a shiny new FAST computer is always fun (once it's all set up).

Yeah hopefully shiny new fast computer once it's setup will take away computer troubles for a whiel.

And yeah, that's pretty old for a computer. Though the desktop I'm using is probably 7ish years old now, but I did buy it to last.

It was a little tough to get it going. I have never needed assistance to get going, but I had to call Dell help. Fortunately, I'd bought a Dell monitor, too. The old monitor had a black screen, but the mouse worked. The new monitor had stuff on it, but the keyboard and mouse didn't work, so I couldn't get it to DO anything. But the Dell guy helped and got me going after a bit of messing around.

The weird thing is, usually when I get a new computer, they always seem superfast. This one doesn't seem any faster than the old one. *sigh*

But at least it has a good wifi connection!

Be warned, there's semi credible rumors that Russia is shutting themselves off from the global internet. You may not have an LJ when you're back. Are you on DW?

Yep, I've been on DW for years and all my communities have backups over there. Except for my writing one, which just has my WC...which I don't NEED.

On DW, I'm Jacieleigh for my personal journal and Jacie for the fandom journal.

*facepalm* I need to pay attention to whom I have added. I have both accounts added already. AHAHAHA!

My fic journal is raynedanserwrites - pretty easy. :)

I knew you had Jacieleigh friended...I think you may have commented over there at some point...maybe? The fic one, I only use for fic stuff, so I'm rarely in it.

I have a lot more trouble over at DW understanding who is actually friended over there. All the friends were imported from LJ...but I don't have access to their DW accounts unless they subscribed. It's just weird that all my LJ friends are there even if they are not on DW. Oh well.
