Worst allergy day of the year, by a lot. I awoke at a little before 5am with a flood of evil in my nose and a heavy heavy dose of that must-claw-all-the-skin-off-my-face nails-on-chalkboard high-pitched-whine-that-makes-your-skin-quivver pain. I got a bit better later in the morning but it's back now in heavy attack. Right now I'm alternating

Allegra and whatever antihistamine in Sudafed's OTC allergy med (which includes pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, which fortunately doesn't make me hyperactive). Claratin, unfortunately, has no effect on me (at all), which is similarly true for all the other OTCs (well - most have no effect at all, the others render me unconscious or close to it); Flonase and the other nasal they had me try worked for about 20 minutes a shot (with an intended four-hour-plus duration). I haven't tried Singulair.

The flowers are astilbe. They come in many colors. The leaves belong to an Iris of some type. You are so lucky to have all these surprises in your yard! *jealous*
