As one Carolinian was forced to tell folks not in the state who worried if everything was gone to shit, the person was forced to reply, "It's worse. It's so much worse."

It's in the book. The book isn't just about the Kochs and their Kochtopus, the many-tentacled beast of political change they've built. Others contribute, and still others both contribute and operate extensively at the state level. One, a guy named Pope, has raged through NC, changing policies and spreading the political bellilcosity that helps him change more policies, pretty much triggering crap like what you posted.

I got so depressed at the scope that I had to put the book down for a while.
