Up late until 1am comping mandolin. So it’s PHOTOSPAM DAY!

The primary reason Anna and I went up island was to see Le Vent du Nord - Anna had bought tickets to the symphony show they were doing with the Victoria Symphony almost a year ago, and friends bought tickets to their more typical bar show up in Cumberland which followed.

Eee! A relly of our own house mammoth, Marilyn :o)

I do covet that one and a half row melodeon!

That'll be Nicolas Boulerice on the melodeon--not his primary instrument but he's QUITE good at it.

He's more all about the hurdy-gurdy, one of the biggest attractions this particular band has to offer. I like a LOT of the bands from Quebec but these guys are my favorites, and they're the only ones with a hurdy-gurdy in their instrumental lineup. It's really kind of amazing what solos Nicolas whips out on it, too. He totally gets heavy metal on it. ^_^

Jean-Claude says hi to Marilyn!

We saw the band at the Orkney folk festival (our regular festval haunt) a year or three back. There are big connections between Orkney and Canada.

Mammoths need to stick together! :o)

Oh awesome so I don't even need to go into the babbling about them. ;)

Jean-Claude is my concertgoing mascot! I got him before a Le Vent du Nord show last year, and it was great fun having him this time--Olivier TOTALLY yoinked him from me and set him on his tapping board so I could get pics of him between Olo's feet. :D
