What is your favorite story and why?

Oooh, good question! Hmm. That's really hard, actually, because I love a lot of them, and usually for different reasons. For a long time, I think I would have said Serendipity, which is my unfinished, epic-length Harry Potter fic from high school. It's not very well written and highly self-indulgent, but the exercise of writing it and and feedback I got on it were really what gave me the confidence to continue writing when I was just starting out in fandom.

However, more recently I wrote Tie Your Handlebars, which is Mike Carden/Kevin Jonas and therefore not everyone's cup of tea (to blatantly understate things...). It's far from being the most-reviewed thing I've written (that still goes to Serendipity, though Zombies Ate Your Idols may be the most popular thing I've written in LJ fandom), and I doubt that more than a few hundred people will EVER read it. But I think it's my favorite thing I've written, for a number of reasons.

For one, I don't feel like I need the validation of reviews. I love it, and that's enough (which is ( ... )

so, um, immature, non-thoughtful, gimme-gimme type of question time, but, Vampires Will Never Hurt You--Gerard and Frank stay bffs for ever and ever, yes? Because ever since I first read it I've been crazy-curious how this version of those boys navigate high school. Eye heart them, seriously, your elementary school au is one of the sweetest things I've ever read.

That type of question is totally okay!! =D

YES, absolutely and totally they stay BFFs! Maybe I should think about writing a follow-up fic for that one... I didn't really because it was my first bandom fic and I was super-nervous about it. /0\

They are total BFFs, even though Frank's mom kind of worries about how he's spending ALL HIS TIME in Gerard's basement, but he's doing well enough in school and he even signed up for art class (which is so he can spend more time with Gerard but she thinks he's getting some culture), so. And maybe at some point a girl actually asks Frank out (because he's cute, even if he does hang out with those weirdo Way brothers), like to a Sadie Hawkins dance or whatever, and Gerard stops speaking to Frank and he's really confused until like, Mikey actually makes a facial expression and tells Frank they'll never find his body if he doesn't fix things right the fuck now, and finally Frank figures out that maybe all that hand-holding and going to horror movie festivals and curling up together when Frank ( ... )

god, now you've got me grinning like an idiot and I've got to look employable--maybe they'll be charmed? In any case, I love this version of events so incredibly much, right down to the happily-off-into-the-sunset-at-art-college, because OF COURSE Frank would follow him to art school, whether he's planning on being an artist or not (though maybe those culturally-enriching art classes started to pay off?). You really had me melting at the mention of the hand-holding, fingertips touching, though the rest of the hand is covered in those fingerless gloves?

In conclusion, yes please write a sequel, because it would/will be brilliant, and I would most likely add it to my super-secret list of things I reread a lot when I'm sad.

What do YOU THINK is your most underrated story?

Oh, that's just HARD! D=

After thinking about this for like, an hour, I'm still not sure, mostly because I don't think any of my stories are "underrated". Some of them have less comments/recs/Delicious bookmarks than others, but often that's a symptom of the fandom or of the quality of my writing (which, imho, has dramatically increased in the last year or two). Mostly, the fics I've loved, other people have loved, too.

I guess the best answer I can give might be Vampires Will Never Hurt You, which didn't get much attention for a number of reasons. It was my first bandom fic, it's an elementary school AU, and it's rated G. Additionally (unbeknownst to me) there was someone else posting a chaptered fic with the SAME TITLE at the same time. So I guess if I had to pick any story that I feel maybe got less ... attention? interest? than it might deserve, it's probably that one. (Though, IDK, maybe everyone read it and a lot of them just didn't like it so they didn't bother to comment/bookmark. It's always hard to tell. :\ )

So Emily Jonas is maybe the most spoiled child in the history of things. This is partly because she is the first grandchild AND first niece in the family, and partly because she has her dads wrapped around her little tentacles. For the first several years of her life, her hobbies included going on adventures in the backyard with her loyal steed, Ginger (these inevitably resulted in mud tracked through the house and the most-often-groomed dog in the neighborhood), and bossing Bronx around ( ... )
