Gah! The awesome! The genius! I was a little confused at the beginning, but it all became clear as the story unfolded. ^^ Simply splendid. Absolutely loved how much more Hatter-ish Tarrant became when he met Alice in Upland/Aboveland/whatever. :)
Yes, I was a bit afraid that between the present and the past, our world and Underland, and between Hatter and the Tarrant who isn't quite the Hatter, thing might turn confusing. XD
I'm glad that didn't put you off! And your comment just solved for me the question if it was even worth bothering with this Tarrant/Hatter idea. <3
Thank you!
"Absolutely loved how much more Hatter-ish Tarrant became when he met Alice in Upland/Aboveland/whatever. :)" I figured that after everything that happened, Tarrant's (Hatter's) real nature would -naturally- come out in Alice's presence. ;) Plus, it's somehow easier to write them when they're together.
To be honest, your comment nearly brought to tears me. So I should probably say something smart and deep here, but I'm not sure what. I'm really grateful for your comment(s)!
Yeah, I will link it to some communities eventually, I just need a bit more of courage. But I will.
Oh, my! I am IN AWE of you and this fic. You had me by the heart from the moment Tarrant started counting carriages and didn't let go till the end. I love how you've made him how you built onto the movie to make him so rich and substantial. The reasons you gave for his colourful personality, the accent, the hat-making, the game of spotting words beginning with a certain letter, the tea party crowd's real world counterparts... all of it suits him perfectly. You've made Underland the Hatter's dreamland as much as it is Alice's.
Then there's the way you write the secondary characters, that just about finished me. I especially adore Molly and the White Rabbit (The politest rabbit in Underland! ♥). The whole conversation about the doors was perfectly tuned to the spirit of the book. The reunion with Alice was the best finishing touch.
In conclusion, this fic is like the perfect cup of tea, not too sweet, just hot enough, and leaving you warm inside. My hat's off to you, darling! :D
Thank you so for writing such an in-depth commentary! *simpers like a mad hare* *continues simpering like a mad hare* *throws cups around laughing*
Sorry, I think I'm not capable of making a coherent comment.
"In conclusion, this fic is like the perfect cup of tea, not too sweet, just hot enough, and leaving you warm inside. My hat's off to you, darling! :D " See, sometimes you're so wonderfully witty, that I don't know if I should love you or hate you for it. <3 Thank you so much!
Thank you for the wonderful reading material. I forgot to mention it at the time, what with the way your story sucked me in, but I'm very impressed by your style of writing. The flow was so smooth, the length of your scenes & paragraphs, the amount of dialogue, the way you vary sentence length... it all added up and made it so easy to concentrate on the plot.
See, sometimes you're so wonderfully witty, that I don't know if I should love you or hate you for it.
I kind of don't believe that, not only because you don't strike me as the type of person to hate anyone, but because after reading the fic in question I don't think you'd ever need to complain of your ability to express yourself. Come to think of it, I should be the one to hate you ;P

I did love how you incorporated other Johnny Depp characters into the first bit as well... genius! Just... WOW!
Five out of five stars!

Haha, I'm glad you noticed other Depp's roles. :D (They seemed like too much fun for me to leave them out.)
Again, I'm glad you liked the fic. Thank you for commenting!
