Taking a photo of your face and putting a transparent grid over it may help. IMO, yours will probably be better than the others in class, because you're not trying to reshape it into an idealized version of you, but instead to capture what you see.

I AM GOING TO TRY THIS. Section by section is probably the only way it's ever going to get done, anyway. Mainly, I am worried about being able to find resemblances between the face I draw and the one in the photo, so if they're broken down into non-face bits, that might actually happen.
