Dexter Vid Recs

"Normal people are so hostile."

Most of these are older and have been rec'd a gazillion times already, but I'm in an "OMG THE NEXT EPISODE!" sort of mood right now. And I love them all.

Pretty much all of these contain major spoilers for season one. For most of the vids, I won't be listing the pairing because that in itself is a pretty big spoiler. If you haven't seen all of season one, don't watch them.

Somehow she made a funny, cute, quirky, lovely, but still dark Dexter video. Set to music by They Might Be Giants. I did not think that this was possible. And yet, it really works! I want to carry this vidlet around in my pocket.

So, so disturbingly psychotic. But in a good way. Basically, this is the complete opposite of the previous video. The constant running monologue of whispered voices just adds to the creepy. Excellent.

Deb! A Deb video! Fucked up, wonderful Deb. I love Deb and this video reminds me why. It also does a fantastic job of showing Deb & Dexter's relationship, which I adore. Her smile at the end. Yes.

Pinocchio's now a boy who wants to turn back into a toy
This video has a beautiful, melodic sort of flow to it. Can something be beautiful and creepy at the same time? Well, this is Dexter, so yes.

Perfect song choice! This has a great quirky, evil, whimsical quality. I shall call it whimsyevil. It's like she reached into my brain to make this video. The smiley face at 1:51 is pure LOVE.

Things get damaged. Things get broken.
I love everything about this.

West of Her Spine by sweetestdrain
This got a lot of attention at the last VividCon, and for good reason. It lulled unfamiliar viewers into a false sense of security. It's so incredibly well-crafted. The composition, narrative structure, & pacing is just brilliant as it unfolds. Plus, the use of such a sweet song makes it deeply disturbing. Just like the show itself. Yay.
