\o/ Bed for me soon, too, but welcome! Hope this is okay! :D sokka_the_wise February 6 2011, 10:40:51 UTC
Oh, Xander, this is soooo not your lucky day. It just so happens that just around the corner you're approaching is one Sokka of the Southern Water Tribe, and he's in some "serious trouble."

"Look, uh, I know what you're asking me, but I can't-- you know, it's not easy and--" But, of course, it's no use. Sokka's cornered by some pretty rough looking (but coordinated) dudes and they're snapping their fingers menacingly in sync with each other!

The leader, a large young man with greased back black hair, obviously means business. What kind of business? Show business, of course! "If you ain't got a song, you ain't got a chance/ Better sing some lyrics or we'll feed you your pants," he sings, much to his gang's amusement.

Sokka swallows a gulp of worry and tries a little spoken "poetry," definitely not a song: "I've got to say, it's not my day, I hardly know a song. You'll all agree, it's not just me, a song from my mouth is wrong. If five minutes you'll grant, I promise I shan't disappoint with a voice that is strong ( ... )

You tickled my squeedly-spooch with this! ;) sokka_the_wise February 6 2011, 19:14:11 UTC
[Suffice to say, neither Sokka nor Zim are where they want to be. Both are tossed into the same cell, though Sokka is placed there first. There are bars, like in a prison, and a couple niceties, like a single hammock and some unidentifiable food. On the bars and affixed to the inside of the cell is a sign that reads "Irken/Human" as if these two are the same species. Outside the bars, some decidedly unrecognizably humanoid energy beings are observing.]

[That's right, it's some sort of alien zoo and these two are currently on display and awaiting their time in the "spotlight" (aka Arena.)]

[Sokka's swiping a hand through the bars, but it's passing right through the energy beings.] How 'bout some real food in here!

Once Zim is thrown into the cell, he lets his displeasure with this situation be known. Loudly.

"FOOLS! How DARE you treat ZIM in such a manner! You do not know who you are DEALING with! Just you wait until I contact the Tallest--the Irken Armada will be here before you know it, and then you will learn new meaning of the word SUFFERING!"

Getting no response from his captors, he readjusts his wig and glowers at Sokka. "You! Earth-smell! Where are we? Tell ZIM!"

[Earth-smell? Sokka makes a face and crosses his arms.] It's a zoo and the food is terrible. That's all I know. [He turns and points to the sign.] Did you say Irken?

[How lucky are you, Katara? Not lucky enough because while you and Sokka are out on a fishing trip, something terrible happens. Upon return to the Southern Water Tribe village, everyone's been zombiefied! And I mean everyone.]

[However, these aren't flesh-eating zombies, so they're just sort of blankly mingling slowly around with their mouths hanging open. Silent. Still. They don't seem to be hurt, and they don't react to Sokka or Katara's reappearance -- at least not from afar.]

[It's late, almost dark, and the fires aren't lit, but there is a mysterious blue smoke rising from the center of the village.]

What the--?

Rawr, dinosaurs in the mist! sokka_the_wise February 6 2011, 21:27:21 UTC
[Oh, Jason, Jason, Jason, this is going to be interesting! You're staying at a remote locale for some "training." It's a jungle-type environment, so prepare for lots of humidity and lots of rain.]

[What you might not realize, though, is that you've got a roommate and he's been here a biiit longer. Sokka, of the Southern Water Tribe, has been here for a week and he's been drawing. The walls are covered in pictures of something unidentifiable aside from large teeth and very large, bat-like wings.]

[Sokka pops up from behind his make-shift sheet tent, tired looking, a bit crazy, and pointing at the door.] Close it, close it, quick, or they'll get in!

[Jason adjusts his rucksack higher on his shoulder, peers crookedly at the kid, shrugs, then turns to close the door.]

[Once he faces his new roommate once more, he takes the drawings, the sheet tent, and the manic face peering at him in placidly for a moment before dropping his bag on the other bed.] I'm, uh, Jason. Er, Jason Gillespie. And I'll be staying with you. I guess. [He sits, forearms on knees, fingertips steepled, giving the kid with the ponytail another questioning look.] So, yoooooou're... new here too? [Have a furrowed brow, kid.] Or is it more important for me to know who I just closed the door on?

It's more import-- [Cue bagging on the door and lots of screeching. It makes Sokka nervous enough that he stays silent and watches the door the whole time. When the sound subsides he relaxes a little. Not much.] That's more important.

[Sokka holds up the best of his drawings, but it's still the most terrible thing in the world, so it's probably no help.] This is. It's... some kind of lizardbat and it's always out there.

[But wait, he forgot...] I'm Sokka.

IMAGINE THE KERMIT FLAILING ICON HERE! \o/ sokka_the_wise February 24 2011, 03:06:30 UTC
[Oh, Anastasia, I hope you enjoy a little bit of indentured servitude, because you've found yourself in one heck of a situation! Thrown into a work camp after being kidnapped, Anastasia will find that escape is, if anything, a longshot. The walls are tall, the guards are plenty, and the allies are very few by the looks on the over-worked, glassy-eyed pairs of slaves already "employed."]

[Inside the walls of this work camp, there is an excess of guards. In fact, there's two-and-a-half guards to each prisoner. The work is hard, hot, and definitely dangerous.]

[The introductory guard's first order of business is to shackle Anastasia to the nearest un-shackled prisoner. Enter the struggling Sokka, obviously just as new to the camp.]

You have GOT to be kidding me! Why is it I can't go anywhere without something like this happening?!

[OOC: Sorry it took so long to get to you, babe. Let me know if this is okay. If not, we're going with Iron Chef: Battle Unicorn. :P]

[P.S. SO EXCITED TO PLAY WITH YOU AGAIN!]

[Hahaha, man, it's only the third time in her life this has happened, so it JUST MAKES SENSE.

Nothing drains the color out of Anastacia's usually extra-bright eyes so much as being locked away from her precious freedom. Her hair's looking limp and lifeless, and she looks extra pale under the grime of the workload. But it doesn't stop a smile from touching lightly on her face as she turns to her new "partner" for today. She keeps her own voice low, so that she can have a conversation without being yelled at by the overseers.]

And here I thought I was the only one who felt that way, sometimes.

[A sympathetic frown.] I'm sorry to hear this isn't your first time.

I'm Anastacia.

[Oh, hey, a sympathetic soul! Anastasia's the first he's met since he'd been captured a few days previous. The traveling had taken its toll and the generally bright young man's looking dark under the eyes and ready for a lot of rest... that he probably won't get here. His traditional clothing (similar to that of the Inuit if Anastasia's familiar) is tattered and dirty and quite frankly, smelly.]

I'm Sokka. [He manages a meager smile and takes in all that is Anastasia. She's much taller than the women he's used to spending his time with, and her long blonde hair's actually a pretty uncommon trait where he's from.] From the Southern Water Tribe.

[One of the guards takes notice and yells incoherently at both Sokka and Anastasia, threatening them from afar with a spear. Sokka growls sarcastically back at the guy.] That's right, threatening will make us work soooooo much faster. [And for that, he gets a little poke-poke with the end of the spear. It doesn't seem like the guards are really interested in getting in close.]

[Sokka sighs ( ... )
