The thing is, nobody really thinks of themselves as evil, do they? (They might joke around about it, but it's more likely they just have a complete other world view.) And thanks a lot - I'm really glad you enjoyed it! ♥
This is my first time reading an Azula piece and I have to say, it was simply hauntingly beautiful. It flows and fits well with her and you captured her personality to a T. She is seriously one of the most frightening, yet fascinating, ruthless, misunderstood character I've ever come across. I never thought she was "evil" she just had a different outlook on life, and you wrote it so nicely!
Definitely awesome stringing in the Ursa affair bit. Makes you think.
Wow, thanks so much! ♥ Azula was probably one of the characters who fascinated me most after watching the series, and I never felt she was "evil" either, but had this overwhelming sense of entitlement and greed for power that was more-than-sufficiently warped by her upbringing.
I don't know whether Ursa was the affair type, but seeing as Ozai doesn't seem like the wonderful!husband type... I figured it'd be something that could cement Azula's resentment toward her and partially justify Azula effectively manipulating Ursa out of the Palace.

This is a great story. I love the fluidity of your writing style.
Just one thing. Zhao was never a general but rather an Admiral. At the time of Zuko's Agni Kai, he was probably only a Captain in the Navy.

Oh, duh! *headdesk* Thanks for pointing that out. I don't know why it didn't occur to me... I'll go fix it right now.
And thanks so much! :)

I love your passion for Azula--and your story, VERY passionate. ;)

I tend to see Azula as a very passionate person. Controlled, but definitely passionate.
