Okay, the gold dress is having major issues. I put on the trim and attached the pleated skirt just today, and I finally put it on and... it looks like this:

The numero uno problem here is that the bodice bit is too long. I would also suggest running some boning channels down the front to keep that point in front nice and flat.
It kind of looks like your pleats may be a bit over-packed too, but I can't tell if that is causing any of your problems as well.
Yeah, I figured it was too long. I just took apart some of the bodice and took the skirt off, so I'm going to try and trim the length down as much as possible.
I agree, the pleats are a little snug, so I'll fix that too. Just kinda frustrating... :(
I was going to suggest the thing with the pleats, too. :) I had that same thing happen with a dress...the bodice was fine, but as soon as I attached the skirt it wrinkled. I took the pleating threads out altogether and it was fine.
