1860s fabric and ideas help, please!

So, for my 1860s fancy day dress, I *think* I'm going to go with a white dress with colorful trim. Notice I said think, because seriously, I'm not so sure. I love love love white dresses, as you all know, and I think a white day dress won't look too wedding-like. One issue I'm having is trying to determine the fabrics used on these dresses. OMG, SO CUTE!!!

So, the first three are most likely a form of light cotton - batiste, voile, lawn or organdy (the soft finish, not the crisp finish)

The fourth one.....could be silk, could be cotton, it's hard to tell.

The fifth one is also hard to tell, but considering all the lace and flouncy-ness of it all, it's probably silk.

The sixth one is TOTALLY silk.

I think the last one is my favorite, but it's such a court/evening dress, so I'll likely lean in the direction of #1 and #3.

I love the contrasting trim on 2 & 4...even though I keep thinking of them as the "starlight mint" dresses! ;)

LOL, I had to google starlight mints... I had no idea what they were! But you're right, they do remind one of starlight mints!
