I believe so (at least, that's how I interpreted the book, and then wrote the fic around it). And Harry was always going to look, I figure after the war a part of him would almost want some new drama, something to get involved in and fight.

OMG that was creepy! You just want to scream at Harry to not do it! His fatal curiousity and the Malfoys' grief feel very genuine despite the sparse number of sentences used to convey them. An excellent job - I'm going to have to read that book now!
