thanks! sure you love the medieval stuff - I didn't expect anything less from you! lol
what you think is chalk is - if I remember correctly - a picture made with an electron microscope. that means it's actually natural - some traces of atoms of something like that - and not made by an artist. Sadly I can't find the source anymore but I hope I stumble across it again some day and will be able to credit properly.
I absolutely love the chrysanthemum. It makes me think of feathers but you're right that it has something of the infinite and reoccurring. The beautiful self-similarity of nature!
