Euphemia was really enjoying the place she worked. The tasks themselves were simple, she simply managed the desk and brought out the mended articles of clothing for customers, and took in new pieces by writing down the person's information in her neat writing and hanging them up for the proprietress to sew later. She liked talking to new people and being treated on the same level as everyone else. They just saw her as a regular person in Soeldei.
When Ysfama finished for the evening, she always presented Euphemia with her pay for the day. Because Soeldei was a barter based city, it wasn't always money, although there were usually a few soels included. Today's was a lovely shawl which had been abandoned by its owner some months ago and nicely mended -- the person had simply never come back to claim it. "You may as well have it, dear," the old woman had chuckled, shooing Euphie out the door and locking it behind them. "It looks lovely on you."
"Thank you!" Euphemia called, truly grateful for the kind old woman's consideration as draped the shawl over her shoulders. "Now, I must find Mr Emil as promised..."
