Well, a paid account means you don't have the ads, you get more user pics, and there are many, many more features that make it quite addictive. I didn't know you could actually by so many months worth for someone--I thought it was a full year or nothing. Whoever gifted you is very sweet. You could always PM them and ask if it is okay to publicly thank them. I usually do if someone gifts me, but then, I'm too innocent to know any better ;).

I love to give unexpected gifts. It makes me happy when others are happy. Corny but true. Also, if you knew how many times I've read "In Reverse" and the joy it's brought to me than you'd understand that this was the least I could do for you. Enjoy :)

That's just it. I'm pretty sure I don't. I'm inconsistent. Anti-social. I disappear from fandom for long stretches...

But, I ain't turning it down. :) And I'm grateful. Thanks for your kind words as well.
