NU'EST PIMP POST
part two: pairings and resources
Instead of doing just the most popular OTPs, I decided to do all possible pairings, since there are only ten of them and not very thoroughly because I am not a magician. In order of age:
pairings
Aron and JR
Aron's choding mannerisms aside, I think these two might be closest in age on a ~metaphorical level~. As a leader who takes his job very seriously, JR has to be more mature than the others, or at least he feels compelled to be. Having someone older than him to rely on is probably good for JR and I imagine Aron would take it upon himself to smother him with affection until he relaxed.
OTP moments: Aron using JR as a pillow (MOS EP5), being cuddly (KPOP 20 EP30), "This is my first time seeing Aron hyung being like this", playing around (LS 1).
Aron and Baekho
Aron and Baekho probably have the closest friendship out of anyone in NU'EST. Given that Aron didn't speak any Korean just a year ago, it might be hard to imagine why they'd be good friends, but Baekho could befriend a signpost if he tried hard enough, so it's really not that surprising. Their personalities appear to be very similar- laid back, a bit goofy, very touchy-feely. Aron often seems unsure of himself and I think that someone like Baekho, who is so confident and outgoing, would've been a perfect match for him during the training process.
OTP moments: Baekho's me2day update on Aron's birthday (notice Baekho's arms), this lovely fancam, Baekho holding Aron's hand and then turning on him (KPOP 20 EP30), more violence (KPOP 20 EP30), ♥, Aron being clingy, knowing each others quirks (LS 4).
Aron and Minhyun
When I first wrote this section, I talked about how Aron and Minhyun haven't really interacted much. The only thing I could think of was when Aron was messing around with Minhyun and he said, in adorably English, "Don't touch me." But then their first LO/\E Story episode came out and they fanservice-d it up with each other, thus forcing me to rethink everything I'd said.
The fact remains that they have been were a little awkward with each other at first. But given that Minhyun is generally a horribly awkward person, it makes sense that they're now more comfortable with each other. Comfortable enough to hump each other on camera. \o/
OTP moments: The end of their first L.O.Λ.E STORY video, there are literally hearts in Aron's eyes.
Aron and Ren
Aron and Ren's entire relationship can be summed up in these two images. Aron dotes on Ren, Ren gets annoyed, Aron finds it hilarious and messes around with him some more. Rinse and repeat.
OTP moments: "Aron hyung keeps calling me princess" (10:38 on), If you had the chance to be another member for a day, who would you wish yourself to be?: Aron hyung (and Aron picked Ren :3),
JR and Baekho
JR and Baekho are total bros. They were really competitive with each other on MOAS and they like to mess with each other, but they also appear to be good friends and I think Baekho just want JR to have more fun.
OTP moments: most of the Not Over You video.
JR and Minhyun
JR and Minhyun have a lot of fun together! Initially the only time Minhyun even showed a personality was around JR, probably because he's the leader (at this point you're probably like we get it he's the leader, I'm sorry) and it's his job to make people comfortable. But now that Minhyun's more relaxed, they mostly just goof off together. Minhyun really likes touching JR's thighs while MCing and it's adorable.
OTP moments: "I think the most handsome member is Minhyun".
JR and Ren
JR and Ren are kind of similar to Aron and Ren, in that JR dotes and Ren scowls, but they're also different! Ren is sort of sassy with JR in a way that he's not with Aron, because being sassy to Aron would mean he had to pay attention to Aron. Where Aron would take glee in Ren bitching, JR just kind of takes it. They've technically known each other the longest since Ren was at Pledis for a week before Baekho.
OTP moments: "I could take care of him".
Baekho and Minhyun
Baekho and Minhyun are similar to Baekho and JR, except with less cuddling and a little more fucking around with each other. These two are the ones that are pulling pranks on each other and being little shits together.
OTP moments: Baekho feeding Minhyun (MOAS 7), Baekho moves Minhyun's chair and Minhyun retaliates (LS 2), fake kisses (LS 3).
Baekho and Ren
So, Baekren. The most popular ship out there, due to doing the most fanservice (which is now more evenly distributed because Baekho is an equal opportunity whore) and therefore also the least genuine ship out there. To get a clear idea of their dynamic, you kind of have to wade through the awkward hugs and stuff.
OTP moments: whatever is happening here, neck touching in Thailand. (lbr, though, if you would like to see more of them you just need to watch any Making of a Star episode (especially the first, second, and seventh) or them mc-ing together.)
Minhyun and Ren
Minhyun and Ren are another popular ship but they actually don't seem to interact that much, other than the fact that they stand next to each other in formation. They seem like cute friends!
OTP moments: "I have a girlfriend." (MOAS 5), IDEK, "Ren, you're more pretty" (idk which episodes these last two from, sry.)
