And how is the Widder Barnes doing? I can't tell - are there 2 hatchlings with their eggshells or will there possibly be 4 hatchlings? And how long will their childhood last before they leave the nest? This city slicker wants to know.

According to what I've read, the chicks will began learning to fly at about three weeks of age. I still can't tell how many babies there are; my stepladder isn't quite tall enough for me to see inside the nest, so I have to hold a mirror over it to see in it -- and the babies are always kind of piled up in a heap. The Widder seems to be doing okay so far! When the chicks get bigger I'll start helping her feed them.

Yep, they seem to be holding their own so far! I'm obsessively monitoring them and feeling inside the nest to make sure that they're still alive. They'll probably grow up thinking that their father is a human hand. XD
