[It's been just under a week since Derek died, and he's finally coming back. He'd woken up naked, smeared with dried blood, and he's currently trying to decide whether the blood is more or less disturbing than the fact that he can't remember anything

Oh for the love of-]
Dear god, sir. Wha-
[Malkus adjusts his mask to obscure his view through the lenses. It's alright, Mal, you're a doctor. You've seen naked bodies. It's just that Derek is walking around so casually, it's stopped the doctor dead in his tracks.]
N-Not safe to walk around s-so eh-...
Y-You'll catch a draft- er-...
[Don't be so silly, Malkus. This man might be in need of assistance. You promised to help anyone who needs assistance, Malkus.]
A-Are you lost?

He frowns at the man, not entirely comprehending what he's talking about. But then, he's only recently remembered language, so maybe that's it.]
Um. That's one word for it. I can't exactly remember much right now.
It's not safe to walk around here? Is that why so many people were dying?
[He can't quite remember, but he's not sure dying is supposed to work like this.]

The valuables, there.
[He's absolutely pressing his gloved hand against his mask.]
I understand the feeling, though. I was in your predicament just recently. I hear it passes, though. Just erm-... Try to stay safe.
and avoid rose bushes and briar patches if you're going to continue to scamper around naked.

And then he's distracted by hearing that Malkus has been through it as well, and it's passed. He smiles, and his voice goes from confused to hopeful.]
It does? So, your, uh, predicament must have passed, too, right? How long did it take?

Are you all right?
[There's something familiar about her, something tugging at his senses, but he hasn't quite figured it out yet.]

Wh-wh-wha...?
[She swivels around, eyes wide, as she stares up at the strange man before her. He was tall. Built. Then her eyes travel downward and she makes a startled, strangled noise in the back of her throat as a dark blush spreads over her like rapid fire.]
I-I-I-I'm f-fine. I-I think. Y-y-you don't h-have any...
[She closes her eyes abruptly. She's being polite.]

You don't sound fine. Are you sure? If something's wrong, you can tell me.
[He smiles slightly.]
Not sure I'll be that much help, but it probably can't hurt.

Your name's Derek .. I'm Alex .. We can meet and I'll fill you in on some stuff you should probably know.
[Because having a shifter that can't remember who or what he is could prove to be a dangerous situation.]

Hey, Alex. That'd be really great, thanks.
I'm, uh. In the hallway of the place I woke up in. All of the rooms are numbered two-something. I'd try to be more helpful, but...yeah.
Reply
Yeah, I know where your room is .. I'll be right over.
[He makes his way to Derek's room, catching sight of the teen standing in the hall. And though he knows that he'll hear him coming, he announces himself anyway.]
Derek .. [He lifts a hand in greeting, a smile touching his lips despite being rather asqejg'ajag;gaga; about Derek having died in the first place.]

[And he does indeed hear him coming, turning in that direction before smiling at his name being called.]
Hey. Are you Alex?

[There. She's helping.]
