Sitting in a Tim Hortons, waiting for an appointment, I overheard a trio of young, well-scrubbed men discussing something biblical. I'm not sure what it was, actually, but two of them had their bibles out and were paging through and citing all kinds of references, correcting each other on the meaning of some passages and doing the Exasperated Sigh ( Read more... )

So that was my revelation, folks - religion is a book fandom.

Trust me, we know.

I know people who call Midrash "Bible Fanfic". I've heard arguments about which Catholic beliefs are canon (which, of course, in Catholocism, has a specific meaning), and which are fanon.

There's also the question about whether Joseph Smith is a Gary Stu.

I would probably be an orginal Stars Wars fan. None of this new-fangled high-tech corruption of the old movies and the new movies completely overrun with the stuff. And no damn goofy friendly alien sidekicks!!!

I'm going through people who've friended me recently and friending back the ones I think I will enjoy reading. I have so many friends now that I can't keep up, so pretty much everyone is on the fence.

But this entry is the win.
