I just had a really odd conversation with a friend's friend. REALLY ODD.

We were in IHOP in New West, happily consuming delicious breakfast-type foods. The conversation leading to this astonishing bit of strangeness was long and convoluted and heavy on the stupid, but not particularly relevant to this tidbit, which sort of leapt out of his yap

Oh, ye gods of comedy... he's her stepbrother. Her Dad married his Mom. His Dad has become, since the divorce, born-again. Besides that, despite his size and copious facial hair, the guy is only 19! Holy crap.

Have you considered going for a casual instead of an every-day relationship? It might help with the volatileness.

Also, having a common enemy in "guy who never canoed" might keep your volatilenesses aimed at the correct targets. :-P

Guy's name is Darren. He's 19, not too bright, and her stepbrother. She called again when I was just getting up, and we had a laugh about him. She took him back to her Dad's place and chewed him out royally for being such a complete fucktard. Apparently, he'd never known She was gay, despite the fact that She had a female 'roommate' who also never had a boyfriend, from the time he was twelve until he was eighteen. And they were openly affectionate when he was around. Et cetera.

Essentially, all he had to do was open his eyes. He never did. Moron!

I'm thinking about a casual thing, actually. I don't know if I could do it, though. The sex would definitely be a plus, but I'm not sure if I can separate sex from deeper emotional goods. We'll see how it goes.
