Test the Nation!

I just got finished playing along with the CBC's new show, Test the Nation. I took the test as the show went along, but somehow ended up getting my numbering of the questions messed up. Uh, what does that say about my IQ? So when I tallied up my score and figured out my IQ I was...108. Which is totally average but that's pretty horrifying for me. ( Read more... )

i agree with the iq test criticisms - despite the fact that i've always done well on them. they skew toward people who are routinely tested (which is why highschool students or certain university students do disproportionately well - and it seems the test accounted for that according to the chart that explained the methodology) and certain types of 'common sense' education (which generally means that an arts degree won't help much). they also, of course, privilege people who speak english as a first language and who have been through the basic standardized canadian/north american educational system. it's strange that these disclaimers are rarely attached, though ( ... )
