It had been a pretty uneventful car journey all in all, something Gwen was pretty happy about, she had enough crazy goings on without bring more into it. She was a little worried, from the times she had spoken to Wes, he seemed like a nice bloke, and she really didn't want Jack to dislike him or see him as a threat. But she didn't really know Wes, ( Read more... )

Wes really did love the chance to fly his x-wing, since most of the time he was supposed to be keeping a low profile and all so as not to freak out the population. Wes himself was pretty sure that the mob scene that would happen if it were seen wouldn't be the kind his superiors thought it was going to be, given this planet's apparent infatuation with his galaxy. However, he still kept the starfighter under wraps most of the time, and was in a very good mood tonight since he got the chance to play with her.

So he didn’t seem the least but nervous or uptight about the upcoming conversation. However, looks were often deceiving, and he was wary of what might happen if things went badly. He didn’t think they would, but he’s been around long enough to know that sometimes things just go wrong, and it was best to be prepared if they did.

He smiled at Gwen and shrugged good-naturedly. "Pretty good. I had a bit of domestic type trouble earlier this week, but I think we've got it sorted out for the most part now."

Gwen glanced towards the door for a moment before looking back at Wes, "I'm sorry to hear about that, when you get trouble there it kind of effects everything." Or at least it was supposed to right?

Picking up her beer she took a drink before sighing softly, "It shows you care, wanting to sort it out."

Whilst meeting in a bar was nice and informal, Jack made sure to bring some level of professionalism into his attitude, being certain his mind was going to stick to the task and all of that. He never really did let work leave his ideas though, always staying aware, always being prepared.. no wonder he lived in the Hub.

He'd taken the SUV to the bar, just in case there'd be a need for it later on, but had left it parked away from the location to give himself a bit of a walk in. Walking always gave him some well-needed people watching time, which he'd grown quite fond of over the years.

Entering the bar and pausing near the doorway, he soon caught sight of Gwen and her friend, ordering a glass of water from the bartender before sliding himself over to the table. With a swift movement, he slung his coat over the back of the chair before sitting beside Gwen, reaching over the table to hold out a hand to Wes, "Hi there, Captain Jack Harkness.. and you must be..?"

Wes smiled at the newcomer to the table, and reached out to take the man's hand, shaking it firmly. "Major Wes Janson. It's nice to meet you, Captain Harkness."
