[Rare as it may be, today for once Shiki's not at All Passions, the store's actually locked up tight for now. Instead she's derping around in the front yard of House Ten making snowmen.

...very...fashionable snowmen, as a matter of fact. Thanks to her free time, she's created a lot of winter clothes and now she's putting them on the snowmen to ( Read more... )

[There's going to be a blue, heavily-bundled-up anthropomorph admiring your snowmen, Shiki. Actually, he'll be mostly looking at the clothing on them.]

...Do you usually dress your snowmen up like that?

I'll get this out of the way, then. If I get injured, I crystallize. It reverses after a while, though. [He motions with his left hand.] I broke my arm when I was seeing what my wings could do... it's still healing up.

[Oh good she doesn't have to ask awkward questions!] Do you know why it does that?

I do, but it's... kind of hard to explain.

...I guess I could try though. The crystal's what everything in my world is made of, sort of, and if I get injured, it sort of scrambles... um, me. Whatever got hurt gets reverted to the basic crystal material stuff.

[Now that he mentions it, there's a few very small spots of that crystal on his other hand. It looks like he might've gotten jabbed with a needle or something similar.]

[She stops for a second to think this through] So...the crystal is like your world's DNA. The genetic make-up.

No... well, sort of. It's a solid form of a very basic... I guess you could call it an energy? Every little thing in my world is made from it, from DNA and particles to people and materials.

That sounds so...fragile though.

Wait, let me try again. Um... it's the energy that makes up everything, and the crystal's just a solid form of it. It's like... imagination, or raw potential. If you know how, you can use it to use what's basically magic.

[He pauses there, rubbing his left hand a bit.] I guess if I get enough of a shock or a blow, my body temporarily forgets what it's supposed to be made out of... or something that. Gods, this is hard to explain... sorry.

It's okay, really. I just think it's interesting since I've never heard of something like that.

[He just chuckles a bit.] Imagine how I felt when I came to reality. [Placing an odd emphasis on "reality", almost as if it should have a capital R.] ...Hey, if I run out of things to do, I might write something about my world. Would you like to read it if I do?

so_shik January 10 2010, 07:26:27 UTC
Yeah, definitely! If you did write something, you could probably show it to the school teachers too so they could tell their classes or something.

Oh, right, there's a school here! Do they normally teach stuff about other worlds?

so_shik January 10 2010, 07:48:41 UTC
Sometimes, but a lot of the stuff they teach is about the magic here and just...well, you know, normal school stuff.

I might have to attend a few classes myself, especially the magic ones... I don't know if my world's brand of magic works here yet. Now probably isn't a good time to give it a try, either...

What kind of magic?

It's called by a lot of names, but I think the most used one is "dreamweaving"... it's using that basic energy to affect change on the world. ...Actually, I think I'll give it a shot. What to do... hmm.

[He closes his eyes for a moment, and in a flash of light blue, an apple appears out of nowhere. Keu just barely manages to catch it without toppling over.]

Yes! It worked! Here, this is for you. It's the fruit of my success. [Handing over the apple... and he doesn't realize it yet, but his crystal left hand has eroded somewhat.]
