He wondered sometimes what his son thought of him. Some kids-like Rya’c-had fathers that no one would want to meet in a back alley at night. Others-like Carter O’Neill-had dads who took them hunting and fishing, watched football, and drove pick-up trucks. Pick-up trucks were cool. Daniel read. He dug up old pottery shards and translated stone tablets. He was, unquestionably, a geek. So, he was rather surprised the day he overheard Nicky and Carter ‘s “duel of the dads” game.
“Yeah,” Nicky shrugged, “but my dad figured out what was in your dad’s fron.”
