More Land and Sky Poetry, written for various challenges, most of which have some relation to color. Again, these are in order chronologically within the AU (as best as I'm able to put them anyway.) If I keep going like this I'll end up actually having enough Land and Sky poetry to have written Inalia's book. *facepalm* I will work on compiling a links list in chronological order with the poems from both of my recent posts...
Title: Alive
Chapter Title: N/A
Author: Lionchilde
Summary: Alternating POV during Episode I
Rating: PG-13 (Somewhat graphic)
Genre: Romance
Pairings/Characters: Obidala
Alive
He tastes burnt orange and crimson in her kiss
He feels the sea pour over him in her laughter-effervescent bliss
He hears the whisper of morning in her touch
He sees all the promise of a life he’s never known
When he looks down at their clasped fingers on the wall
He smells the rise of springtime in the desert of his soul
And his blood surges
Alive
The scent of cinnamon lingers in the air
His fingers are surging through her hair
Dancing along her skin as his voice caresses
Before his mouth takes hers in a flood of mint and amber
She sees the home she longs for and a faith she’s never known
In the clasp of their hands against the wall
There is the promise of forever in his touch
And her heart surges
Alive

Summary: Obi-Wan’s POV after Tatooine
Rating: PG-13 (Somewhat graphic)
Genre: Romance
Pairings/Characters: Obidala
Carpe Vitam
She glitters like gold
She sparkles like a diamond in your eyes
Bedazzling
And you can’t look
But you can’t turn away
You breathe her
Taste her
Feel her in your veins
Etched within your bones
You ache
For the smile you can’t behold
You rise like a vapor
You drift apart like a cloud in her wake
Bloodless
You slip through her fingers
But she can’t let you go
She feels you
Tastes you
Breathes you like a mist
Caressing in the night
She shivers
But she cannot wake the sleeper
She shines like a beacon
You toss like the ship she waits for
Thrashing
In the storm you created
In the sea of your soul
Title: The Wanderling
Chapter Title: N/A
Author: Lionchilde
Summary: Padme’s POV as Obi-Wan departs
Rating: PG-13 (Somewhat graphic)
Genre: Romance
Pairings/Characters: Obidala
The Wanderling
He gave his promise
He’ll keep his word
To do less would be less than him
But the hot yellow sun
The desert sun of memories
Beats down upon her head as she watches him depart.
She wants to be angry
Wants to scream
But she can’t
Too many people would hear
And how could she fault him for the honor he kept
When that was so much part of him
Memories become blisters
Rising on her skin
Undeniable
Unhidable
Hopes become the sand
Dry and stinging in her eyes
Blown about by the wind of his duty
As she has been.
But in her secret heart she waits
Knowing
Every wanderer needs rest.
Every lost and weary soul finds home again
Title: Awakening
Chapter Title: N/A
Author: Lionchilde
Summary: Obi-Wan’s POV after returning to the temple
Rating: PG-13 (Somewhat graphic)
Genre: Romance
Pairings/Characters: Obidala
Awakening
There’s magic in her skin on yours
There’s honey on her tongue
And slowly,
Slowly,
She draws you down with her
Take me down
Out of my ivory tower
I want to feel
There’s thunder in your breath mingling
A torrent in her kiss
And deeply,
Deeply
You drink your fill of her
Sweep me down
Out of my ivory tower
I want to be
Her arms are cream enfolding you
Drenched in scent and silk
And madly,
Madly,
You burn under her touch
And wake.
Alone in your ivory tower.
The storm’s cold spray upon your flesh.
Title: Heartache
Chapter Title: N/A
Author: Lionchilde
Summary: Padme’s POV after Obi-Wan’s departure
Rating: PG-13 (Somewhat graphic)
Genre: Romance
Pairings/Characters: Obidala
Heartache
I float away like lint-a speck against the blue
Disregarded
Carried on the breeze your cloak made
As you turned away
Where you go now I cannot follow
The life you choose cannot be mine
Your duty takes you back
And we go on
You to your tower in the clouds
An insubstantial world of wonder
Bloodless, transparent
But clean and free of weight
Me to a world of sun and water
Swirling light and flowers
Once warm and all I needed
Now a sepulcher in disguise
We cannot shed ourselves this way
Without your dreams I’ve lost my own
Without your hands I cannot touch
I’m drifting; come to me

Rating: PG-13 (Somewhat graphic)
Genre: Romance
Pairings/Characters: Obidala
He Who Knew Himself The Light
Her gaze is a prism
Bending you till all your colors show
You pour through her and see yourself anew
The colors of a life you never knew
Split apart and breaking
You can’t hide
Will you be a shattered sunbeam
Or a rainbow all in splendor
Embrace the dream or fade away
Embrace the flame or founder
Feel the color beating in the soul you tuck away
And know the one who sees it in you
Or never taste the day
The wind on your skin
Your lips against her neck
The way it was
The way you were
When you dreamed that you could be
Title: Quest Within A Kiss
Chapter Title: N/A
Author: Lionchilde
Summary: Obi-Wan’s POV after Tatooine
Rating: PG-13 (Somewhat graphic)
Genre: Romance
Pairings/Characters: Obidala
Quest Within A Kiss
My body waits
In a place of mist and shadow
Half way between dusk and dawning
What is this that my thoughts are spawning?
Caught between the wind and fire
Rent within by dual desire
Hanging motionless
I float between myself
Kicking and screaming
Am I still standing?
Is my heart still beating?
Let my lady come on silver streams
To shower me
As I finally touch the flame
To feel the earth shake beneath me
The brush of her cheek felt briefly
Am I still standing?
I want to wake up now
With her arms around me
To shield against the mist that hounds me
Let her voice crash through to be my morning
And my guide
Feel me
Is my heart still beating?
Shivering in the gray and soundless
Reaching outward, she is the sun
Entrenched inside a pit I couldn’t see
I wait, afraid to be
Kiss me
And I learn my heart is beating
Now my lady’s mouth becomes my quest
As her arms have been my only rest
She draws me up with her
And finally I see
That we are standing
Her hand in mine
Lit by the fire burning
Touched by the fingers yearning
Caught by a whisper melting
The ones who quest within a kiss
Feel me
I am your heart still beating
She is wind and hearth
Both home and change
In her the mist is burned away
Still shaking, we step into day
Turn to me
Let me taste your mouth again
Linger on my lips and breathe my breath
As I breathe yours and wake from death
We leave the shadowland together
All not knowing
Be my eyes
And see through me
Find the light
Find all the secret places waiting
Through the yearning and the bliss
For those whose quest begins-a kiss.

Rating: PG-13 (Somewhat graphic)
Genre: Romance
Pairings/Characters: Obidala
Entry
She is the meteor; he is the sky
She flares through him, burning away his skin
The trail of silver she leaves in her wake
Becomes the scar that streaks his chest
As she explodes across his life
And then is gone again
Fleeting
A touch of passion that he has never known
Then she becomes the vapor of his past
And the sky is empty but the shining scar remains
A throb keeping time with the blood in his veins
Pain to keep him feeling
So he knows he has a heart still
Beating
Until the sky becomes the rain
That falls upon the superheated stone
And in the rising steam they touch
A kiss, a birth, a breath, a joining
A story told of two souls
Meeting

Harbor
Glory is the lakeside with your head on my chest
Fingers in my hair
Along my neck
Cool breezes on wet skin as the sun dries us
Teach me the birds’ names and let me drift on your voice
Show me kit foxes in the sky and give them a den of clouds to hide in
Pick names for the children we haven’t conceived and tell me how they’ll love it here
Paint a world for me with words and feelings
Let me find you there and learn to know myself
Feed me chocolate from your fingers and kiss me for a taste
I was a castle in the sand until you came
You wash me away and build me up again with substance
I’ve become the harbor for your dreams
As you are mine.

Meadowlarks
Green is a place he can’t remember
In a life we’d like to share
The hilltop where we watch the stars rise
The meadow where we lay
Our children play there in dreams we share of a world where war’s forgotten
In dreams there is the rush of rain
A sweet release and knowing
Clean earth, tall grass that sways around us, filling our nostrils, filling us
As he fills my soul with his
And I fill him with me
Recalling days that haven’t happened
Reliving a desert passion and tasting the joy of touch
In an azure place that war’s forgotten.

Join Your Soul To Me
Red is the tie between us
The promise I swear to you again
Each time I see the string of my life wound about your wrist.
And yours on mine
Threaded together
Two lives joined
Two souls meeting
With a kiss that changed forever
Fingers laced together
A touch that reached the sky
Binding us together
Soul to soul and land to land
You are the part of me I carried but did not know
The part of me I thirsted for until you drank
Gold is the thread that binds us
The promise that I swear to you again
Each time I touch your heart upon my wrist
And my heart answers in your chest
Knit perfectly together
Two lives meeting
Two souls joined
Essence flowing into essence
Fingers laced together
Rooted in the land
Heart to heart we beat upward together
Until we soar in uncharted skies
The search is over; drink and let our quest begin.

Author: Lionchilde
Summary: Padme considers the cut of the man she married and her hopes for their children. Land and Sky Post Episode I spoilers

The Cut of the Cloth
Her hands run over the worn brown fabric as she takes it from the closet.
She folds it over her arm and smiles, thinking again of Tatooine.
Her fingers smooth downward
Pressing out the wrinkled spots with tender care as she carries it to her chair.
She lowers her body into a high backed chair and drapes it across her swollen belly
While her fingers still stroke an unconscious rhythm.
She remembers how it looked to her when she first saw him
Billowing outward as he leapt to her rescue
How it whirled around him as he moved in combat
There is little in her memory of his face or even the hands that came to mean so much
Her fingers play over the faint grease stain that still lingers from the battle droids he fought
And she thinks of how he helped her doctor Qui-Gon’s burns
Strong and in command, even with his wounded master.
It seemed to be a regal garment then
A symbol of the Jedi’s power as her own royal robes were made to be.
Now she sees it wasn’t the robe at all, but the cut of the man who wore it.
She can see the yellow dust and grit of the desert settled over it
Caked on as they strode through the baked and thirsty spaceport city streets.
And thinking of it, she dips her head to breathe against the cloth
As she longed to that night
Because even if the desert smells are gone.
He remains.
Closing her eyes, she links both hands across her growing womb and rocks a little
Sleepily wondering about the child she now carries.
She hopes his children will be cut of that cloth
And she dreams of watching him here with them
Wrestling on the floor like fox cubs
Piled atop the put upon father with boisterous disregard for the dignity he claims to love.
He wakes her with a hand to her neck and she starts a little
Then she turns and smiles as his fingers slide upward to her cheek.
Leaning into the touch, she sighs
Her eyes drift closed as she loses herself in the feel of him
“You should rest,” he whispers as her lips nuzzle his palm.
“I rest better when you dream with me,” she tells him
Quietly he kneels at her side
His fingers slide upward, tangling in her hair with gentle passion
He presses his lips to her temple, and his right hand comes to cover hers.
The hands twine together over her belly, resting on his robe.
His voice is soft and fervent as he speaks-a prayer that promises his ardent devotion.
“You carry all my dreams now. You are the home-place for me.”

Joy To Be With You
She’s holding the newborn in her arms
All her pain forgotten
(for the moment)
In the joy of life begun
And of the man beside her
She thinks
His eyes are a bonus prize
Lit with wonder she’s never seen
At tiny pink fingers
Exquisitely formed
Down to soft translucent nails
And tender webbing
She’s thinking of the songs she’ll sing now
All her fears forgotten
(for the moment)
In the thrill of time outrun
And of the man beside her
She thinks
We have another sunrise
A talisman against the night
They know is coming
But for now there is
Only soft contentment
And tender knowing

They’ve seen her dress in peasant’s clothing
They’ve seen her walk in wide eyed wonder
Through remote outposts hot with squalor
He still sees the Queen
They’ve seen her on the senate floor
A vision of white marble come to life
A vision carved of frozen light
He still sees her smile
They’ve seen her blow his children’s noses
They’ve seen her kneeling in the dirt
To dig up stones and turn the soil in her mother’s garden
He still sees his Lady
They’ve seen her leading men to battle
A vision of amber come to life
A vision shaped of frozen fire
And he still sees her hands.

So Fair A Land as This
There’s a place of purple velvet
Soft with rolling clouds
And cut through with streaks of light
A silken meadow where we lay to watch the stars return
I go there when you leave me
To remember where we are
Relive the taste of rushing water
And the glow of candlelight
Remember it where you are
Torn inside by blood
Come back quickly to me
Take shelter in my soul
When you touch the tie between us
Think of how it formed
Remember all that’s waiting
And the promise of the days
When all of this is over and you return to me
Remember home is calling
And the rising stars remain

The Mourning Wind Blows Tonight
Blue is the lonely desert wind
Calling to her lover across the sands
Who can say what will soothe her?
She wanders endlessly among the dunes
Calling as my heart now cries out for you
You’ve slipped beyond my reach
And I can’t feel you
In my dreams I walk alone
They tell me you will not return but here upon the shattered stone I wait
With the sting of the desert on my skin
Zeylquanumali’s grief is melting me
but I’ll give no water to the dead
my hope remains in you
And my soul calls you home

Sweet turns to bittersweet
Reunion again becomes farewell
The storm we shared has ended now
But there’s no rainbow in my sky
Touch my face once more before you go
Hold my hand and smooth away the fear that lingers
Promise it won’t be the last time
And I swear that I’ll remain
Our joy together turns to pain
I lay my hand upon the gentle swell
Where our unborn children lay
And hardly knowing them prepare to leave again
The storm we shared on land has ended now
I’ll take another to the sky
Kiss my face once more before I go
Then I’ll hold our son and soothe our daughter’s fears
As they come to stand beside us
And I swear that I’ll return.

Hour of Trial
Midnight has fallen
Black wings unfurl
The galaxy is burning
The stars are churning
My hands are yearning
Your children wait watching
Weeping
As the sky glows red above us
But their faith will hold
As mine will hold you
I carry you in my soul
As you carry me
I chew and swallow fear for you
Tough and implacable as unstretched leather
The galaxy is burning
The stars are churning
My hands are yearning
Your soul holds me steady
Reaching
As the ship spirals on
I know where you’re waiting
I feel you with me
I carry you in my soul
As I rocket through hell
