Okay. Golden Age. Done.

My facebook status currently reads "Somebody get Spenser in here and write the boy a check because omg Glorianagasm."

Which is true.

Except not.

You cannot have, in the same movie, Gloriana In Armor Under Cross of St George and wimpy little girl-queen. You can't, that is, unless there is... what's the word? Narrative? Or some ( Read more... )

This post is MADE OF WIN.

Also, I had ONE expectation from this film and that was to hear Cate Blanchett talking about having the heart and stomach of a king and it DID NOT DELIVER. FAIL.

This is what I'm saying.

Myth. Straightforward. Inherently dramatic. Film it. Done. Un-nondeliverable.

Oh, dear, no, no!

I enjoyed every minute of it. Deeply.

The people in the theatre around me and my pal, on the other hand, would probably have been happy to be well rid of us. We were, um, a bit loud. And cackly.

Hee! That's what we were like too. I think we lost our shit collectively during the opening text crawl. (And Philip II caused us to have hysterics every time he was onscreen.)

Also, I have to say that "MY BITCHES WEAR MY COLLAR" is possibly the most awesome line ever uttered on film.
