Around the Castles and Dorms, Saturday Evening

Aug 17, 2013 18:26

So, Clint was aware of a few things by now: no one could hear anything, there were some freaky looking creatures flying around, and freaky looking creature claws plus bouncy castles was probably a bad combination. If Clint had been a student he'd have headed for the dorms, so he figured the area between the dorms and the castles was probably a good ( Read more... )

There seemed to be fewer wakwaks out by now, so Bay felt reasonably okay going out for some fresh air.

But then it turned out "seemed" was the key word, and there was a demon bird thing bearing down on her, and she had literally never been so happy to see a teacher in her entire life. She joined Clint with a silent meep.

Clint had never realized how important hearing was to knowing where to look, but thankfully Bay's expression was pretty clear, and Clint had an arrow ready as soon as he saw the creature, letting it fly and shooting the... whatever it was through the neck.

Hopefully that wasn't too gross for Bay.

After a quick check to make sure there was only one of them following her, he gave her a smile and looked her over for any sign of injuries. "You okay?" he tried mouthing.

Please, Bay loved gross. Especially when it meant she got to keep her intestines inside her body instead of having them extracted by a demon bird thing.

"Thanks," she mouthed. "I think I'm okay. Just shook up."

That was kind of a long set of words, and she glanced to Clint at the end to see if he got it.

'Shook' was a weird word to try to lip read, but 'okay' was the important part. Clint mentally cursed himself for not bringing paper with him, and tried to speak slowly instead. "Where are you going?"

Ms Oh Right I'm School Security Too (Bo to her friends) had the same idea, minus the tree-climbing, because yes, Clint, it WAS.

She also had both a sword and a crossbow, though she wasn't nearly as good with the second one as some people.

She raised the first in a short Hi, Guy Who Isn't Guy wave, as she scanned the sky above the dorm building for the swooping, batlike figures she'd seen from the street.

Hey, at least Clint wasn't trying to be creepy, unlike some people cough Derek cough.

Also, he had some sword envy going on right now. Well done, Bo. Clint nodded in return, and managed to only leer at her for a few moments before remembering hey, doubly armed lady.

He picked the wrong person to worry about leering at, because ...Bo. She just grinned and shook her head, because ...Kitty. And then pointed above his head with her sword, because CRAP, FLYING DEATH FROM ABOVE

Ugh, Clint was going to be having weird bat demon dreams for days after this. He turned, pulling an arrow out of his quiver as he moved, and watched the flying thing for just a moment before shooting at one of its wings.

Because Grounded Death From the Ground was slightly less freaky?
