But then it turned out "seemed" was the key word, and there was a demon bird thing bearing down on her, and she had literally never been so happy to see a teacher in her entire life. She joined Clint with a silent meep.

Hopefully that wasn't too gross for Bay.
After a quick check to make sure there was only one of them following her, he gave her a smile and looked her over for any sign of injuries. "You okay?" he tried mouthing.

That was kind of a long set of words, and she glanced to Clint at the end to see if he got it.

She raised the first in a short Hi, Guy Who Isn't Guy wave, as she scanned the sky above the dorm building for the swooping, batlike figures she'd seen from the street.
