“But why does it have to be for such a long time?”
“It’s just two months, it’s nothing.”
Seung-ri disagreed.
“Besides, when I come back my English will be amazing and I can impress you with clever lyrics that you don’t understand,” said Ji-yong, smiling as he reached up to pat his friend’s cheek. “No gloomy faces while I’m gone, okay?”
“I will miss you so much, hyung,” Seung-ri says quietly, looking away.
“Don’t be silly, my Seung-ri, it’s only two months.”

Out of all the boys, Seung-ri had always been closest with Ji-yong. Therefore, the mere idea of the other boy staying away for anything longer than a day was simply Unbearable. He had been sulking for weeks since he first found out - what did America have that Korea did not? It didn’t make sense, not to him, but Ji-yong never changed his mind for anyone.
Loyal as he was, Seung-ri helped him to pack, double check his visa and even came along to the airport to see him off. As he stood there, watching Ji-yong drag his seemingly too-heavy hand luggage towards the security check, his heart sat unmoving at the very bottom of his stomach.
It took a long time to get Ji-yong through the metal detector and if Seung-ri had not been so upset, he would have laughed at Ji-yong’s face when he was forced to remove his accessories, one by one. Today, he really couldn’t.
“Seung-ri!”
The familiar voice came from afar and he raised his eyes to see Ji-yong standing there, on the other side of the safety check, waving his arms like an idiot. Ji-yong with his stupid hair style, bright eyes and beautiful, beautiful smile. He was so radiant, practically glowing, and Seung-ri’s heart charged in his chest, wanting to take off and run towards him.
Don’t go.
“Saranghae!” Ji-yong shouted across the hall, pressing a kiss onto his palm and throwing it across the space between them. “Catch, you idiot! Saranghae, my Seung-ri! SARANGHAE!”
Seung-ri watched a security guard approach the screaming boy on the other side, and suddenly laughter bubbled in his throat. Oh, Ji-yong. He opened his hand and caught the blown kiss quickly, holding his fist up to Ji-yong to prove it.
“Don’t waste it!” Ji-young shouted before a pair of strong, disapproving hands hauled him towards his gate. He was out of sight, but Seung-ri could still hear him arguing with the guard. It sent warmth through his ribs and his heart could finally rest peacefully in its cage.
He brought his hand up to his face and pushed his palm to his cheek. He could practically feel Ji-yong’s sticky lips against his skin and like a sunny sky pushes through the greys of a storm, Seung-ri’s face split up in a smile. Ji-yong was right.
It was only two months.
End.
