Oh man, I was slow to catch on, so when Jim took the yellow scarf...wham! Or wait, no...on second thought, it was your build up. (not that I'm not slow) You just led up to it so perfectly.
Very nicely done, in a totally gripping, creepy sort of way. Great job.
I don't think you're slow at all! I really wanted that scene to come as a shock, and I was trying to be very sneaky and sly about it - so you've totally made my night, saying that! I was definitely going for gripping and creepy and I'm so, so happy that that worked so well for folks!
Thank you for reading and for the lovely comments! *smooches you*
I've been waiting for a story to yank my Sentinel strings for a while now and this did the trick. A known "bad guy", a flashback to my favorite bit from The Trance, and a fantastic balance of "cops" and that "mystical mumbo jumbo" as Jim might say *L* Toss in a lovely helping of Blair-owies and some romance, and well, it's a keeper!
Aw, thank you! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it! I was hoping folks would find it intense and exciting, and I'm really glad to hear that it worked on that level for you!
You scared the beejeebies out of me with this. I was totally freaked, I read it peering through my fingers at my ebook in the middle of the night!
I mean the sad but sweet shooing of the little victim off to the light by Shaman Blair was just lovely and I felt bad that it gave him such a headache but i thought maybe it was because he was new to this aspect of shamanism... I was so wrong. I should have had a clue - you gave them to us as you should but I blithely tritzeled by them and was HORRIFIED!!!
Hee! Oh, wow, thanks for the awesome feedback! I was hoping that folks reading it would find it gripping and intense, so I'm really, really happy to hear that it worked that way for you! And I really wanted that scene in the loft with Jim to come out of nowhere (but not be completely weird and non-sequiteur), so, yeah, again - really really happy to know how well that worked!
Thanks so much for reading and commenting! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

The ripped up pillow! And what Jim said to Blair!
OMG!
My blood froze and I read on, but I was so worried and scared and nervous! Worse than poor Blair, I swear!
Great job of scaring me!
