What an interesting explanation for Mrs Lovegood's death. :)

You had me guessing throughout until the final dénouement, that's good because I usually figure out a mystery long before the story or the book comes to an end. I wonder about Luna's mother, why would she use a child, her own child at that, for those experiments? Why wasn't Zeno more observant and in turn to what was going on? Severus seems to be the only one who will cherish her and protect her, though he had to use Veritas serum and a binding spell to get to the truth. I'm glad she found his patch of forest.

Oh I love it! I want to know more more more about what Meri was trying to do/thinking when she experimented on her daughter. I have always thought of Meri as a benevolent character but you have made me rethink that idea. Spooky.

I really enjoyed the scene where Luna explained to Severus why he must be a ghost. You made me giggle.

thank you mystery author!

Wow, that's a little creepy, and not at all what I would have expected Luna's mom to be like.

You definitely kept me guessing. I guess Xeno is so busy looking at things that don't exist that he doesn't notice what's going on in front of him.

How intriguing.

That tragedy would explain rather a lot about both surviving Lovegoods' coping mechanisms. Lots of food for thought.

Oh, and I really like the way Luna accepts an apology.
