This is lovely (in spite of poor Harriet, whose brief time with Severus brought him, I think, a form of Healing that he desperately needed). I'm enchanted by the Menagerie, the familiars, and the Snuna; thank you for this story. :)

Thank you, Iuls. Harriet was indeed very important to Severus and helped him heal on many levels. He misses her, still... I'm delighted yuo enjoyed the Menagerie and its occupants! *hugs

Harriet was important to me, too; hence my anger. Excellent job making us feel something for the wee mouse. :D

Thank you. I was just thinking that I'm surprised and pleased (in a non-sadistic sort of way :-p) that people seem to have felt something for little Harriet.

She's at peace, though. And so happy to have given Severus precisely what he needed.

*hugs

i reallu liked this story! i giggled thjrough the whole thing, nearly. i loved fred-the-dragon and fluffy-the-dog and his concern in spite himself for harriet-tjhe-mouse. luna was absolutely spot on here. i'd never considered her taking over the menagerie before but now it just totallyu makes sense to me. Absolutely wonderful story. i look forward to finding out who you are, mystery author.

also apologies for the state of thjis comment. i've hurt one of my fingers and typing is a little difficult at tjhe moment.

Wow. This broke my heart and made it whole again. I love the idea of a sentient Menagerie with a symbiotic relationship with its owner and residents. I love the lessons brought by each of the animals sent to Severus, and I love Luna's gentle method of expressing them. Your writing is gem-like, cut with precision to make the facets catch the light of understanding; each word is perfect for its purpose and fills your sentences with warmth, grace, and thoughtful tenderness. I am absolutely bowled over. Glorious work! Brava!!

Thank you :) I'm thrilled that you enjoyed both the story's structure and style. Those lessons were important ones and I'm glad that they come through without knocking the reader over :)

Thanks so very much for the lovely review.

This was just lovely, even though the Harriet interlude was heartbreaking. Your Severus and Luna were each perfect. Beautifully written!
