Thank you, as always, for the prompt review. Sorry I've been such a slob about getting back to you. I liked the last bit of the chapter myself, so I'm glad you did as well. Sam'll figure out what's a bit off about it eventually, I think.
Just got around to reading this - I've had the first chapter saved for what feels like forever. I really like the way you're interpreting Harry's book-canon through Winchester eyes - that's going to be pretty amusing, considering the insane things Harry comes up with on occasion. Have you set this in a particular book on Harry's side, or between books? I'm just wondering if I should wait for a rampaging T-Rex zombie, Thomas Raith, Lasciel or Wardens. I cannot imagine how internally appalled/pissed Harry must be at the thought of two magic-less kids ripping open a portal to NeverNever and then swanning around the country trying to 'clean it up' without actually fixing the portal. Hee, that's going to leave a mark. Love, love, love the last sentence! I'm going to friend you so I don't miss any of this. I'm dying for Small Favor to come out, and before I saw this crossover I was toying with re-reading all the Dresdenbooks so I'd be current for Small Favor.
Thanks you for reading as well as reviewing. I do hope it comes off as fairly funny. Both Dresden and SPN use such amazing sarcastic wit. I'm trying to channel my sarcastic witty writing self but I don't know if I'm doing too great at it. As for your question about a time frame for the Dresden books, it's basically after White Night so (at least at this moment) I don't foresee any book events happening in the story, although there will be some references to said events. And, yes, the boys will definitely meet Thomas. I think the "fake gayness" of both Thomas and the Winchesters should make for some amusing conversation. I hope. *Goes to look again for great sarcastic wit, which seems to have disappeared somewhere.*
Good point about the angel/ghost thing. You are, of course, correct now that I cast my mind back to the episode. I'll fix that shortly. And yes, that slight difference in semantics is going to be rather key, I think, to the next chapter.
Glad you liked that line. Trying to bring their two universes together does require a bit of juggling. That was the first ball, I think. There needs to be some understanding of what the other is saying and meaning, because their words don't necessarily mean the same thing. This is one of the main differences, the whole NeverNever thing.
Hee! Happy land. I love the interactions in this story, both between people and between worlds. Fabulous job. And yay for two new members of the Church of Mac. Some day, I'd love to find out who and what our shotgun-totin' magic cook actually is. After steak, of course.
Yeah, I'd like steak, too. I don't drink so the ale/beer doesn't sound good to me, but the steak . . . yum! And I agree with you that he doesn't seem quite human. I wonder if there are food fairies somewhere. Thanks for reading and commenting and I'm glad you're enjoying the story.
Always, m'dear. What's not to enjoy? And I don't drink either, which is why I went straight for food nirvana. And for all that the Dresden Files is partly noir, for all that they're mysteries, Mac is the only original Man of Mystery that *stayed* mysterious, and I love him for it. And I have a feeling Sam and Dean would approve of more than his cooking if they saw him in action. Wizards and demons and cops, oh my, but a barman with a shotgun primed for magical interferance ... They could give each other tips.

Sidenote: The Winchesters haven't fought an angel. They fought a ghost who thought he was an angel.

"You accidentally opened a rift into the NeverNever and summoned demons through it?"
