EDIT: I couldn't help myself. The SnF/VitaSong similarities were too strong, and I already had the video editor open from Epic SNSD. Plus even a little bonus analysis at the bottom.

Translation cr; dhoney @ soompi

유영진이 선사한 가사 역시 소녀시대가 여성들을 대표해 '세상의 모든 소년, 남자들이여 일어나라. 자신감을 갖고 꿈을 이루기 위해 용기를 내라'는 메시지를 담고 있다.

^this translated means that yoo young jin's lyrics for snsd's song
it's a song about the girls giving strength to boys all around the world. Telling them to stand up and fulfill their dreams. It's supposed to be an encouraging song for them.

Also, the title song is supposedly not a "hook" song.

the track list sounds a bit random. but once again their english track titles usually never went with the actual song. so we will just have to wait and see until they release all of the songs.

Hopes. Dashed. ;__;

Ooh, now I'm somewhat interested. They said TMYW wasn't a hook song either, so a good chance it won't be grating like Oh!

But yeah, lol none of that "wimmin feel oppressed by society" nonsense for SNSD! They're too busy pep talkin' their boys. From the kitchen. Like they should be.

What does this have to do with Yoona waving a sword around again?

It's a pity that they have to stick to their existing image and pander to the mostly-male fanbase in Korea - possibly because they're SM's most bankable group at the moment. At this point I think almost anything SNSD releases would sell, but without DBSK or SJ to fall back on and with SHINee and f(x) not doing particularly well, looks like SM isn't feeling adventurous. :|

The sword is as relevant as Hyoyeon having a lilypad as her icon, I suppose.

I wonder if gender also plays a role, because at DBSK's height of popularity under SM Mirotic got banned for the "under my skin" lyrics. And while SNSD has somehow avoided being classified as wearing overly sexy clothing, *snorts*, their promoted song concepts have all played the safe side. Smart of SM, really, to let them be backdoor sneaky sexy with their english song covers. If You Seek Amy, Poker Face, Three, etc. We've joked about how SNSD's concerts are still considered Family Friendly despite the solo stages, especially Yuri's. So she's "Family Friendly" in that she wants to start a family with you right here, right now, on the stage floor. XD
Plus, *snort*, Homin aren't exactly adventurous either, Keeping their Heads Down and all that. XD They've gotten some pretty awesome MVs out of it,(when will SNSD get a mini-drama MV?) but technically still all safe territory conceptually/content-wise.

Much less Jesusica. XD

Hey that el oscar song is pretty funky... they should probably just do a cover album. Instead of Lazy Girl they should do Crazy Girl, though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ8gBhhB7Pc

My kingdom for SNSD covering Vitamin Drop.

Crazy Girl was certainly interesting to listen to. Grew on me, too. Slightly reminded me of the Abenobashi opening.
