Well I like basically every HP song put out in the past couple of years. I wish they got the critical analysis bestowed on k-pop in the west, what with the generously supplied english subs and all. Did we talk about THe Middle-Management? I mean, the title/ concept is the best thing but the song is great as well.
Party is ok. Not extraordinary, but better than most SNSD songs that go for a light sound. But they've managed to build up real hype around this campaign which they haven't achieved for years. There seems to be excitement for SNSD in Korea again. Actually trying, cashing out for a couple of MVs and some high profile variety stuff helps, of course.
Lots of roster turnover at H!P these past few years, which always gets Tsunku's creative juices going. New groups always have a strong early discography, so Juice=Juice and ANGERME are getting some great stuff. (haven't checked out Country Girls or that new unit yet) On the veteran side of things, Berryz got a strong send-off, while C-ute are just pure dynamite as performers. Their concerts perfs are just brilliant. Morning Musume....ah, not feeling that latest single. Got my eye on some of the 12th gen, though.
Just heard the B-side on Party, Check, and it's not bad. Not quite my thing, but I think I prefer it to Party. The A-side has that "SNSD's vocals are too smooth and polished" problem, where it files off the personality Katy Perry imbued her Dr. Luke songs.
"You Think" sounds like it has some real potential, though.
