You gonna be in chat or something on Sunday? I'm planning on watching AKB (though I'm hoping to catch Koda Kumi and Ayu as well).

I'm going to try to hit as many of the lives as possible. Currently Boom Boom Satellites and Etsuko (FMLFMLFMLFML) are a little bit late for me to be able to catch their lives in full, (conflicts with work) but everything else I should be in chat for at least the first hour.

Sekai no Owari stream was a total wash.

They performed their latest single, it sounded more pre-recorded than a CNBlue performance, talked for 30 minutes straight, (with some minor games) shilled their G+ page every five minutes, and then closed out with playing the PV of the SAME FUCKING SONG.

Thank goodness the AKB stream is going to be a proper concert broadcast. And a Budokan concert at that.

May be in for the Kyary stream monday, may not. Time zone here same as Japan - I'm finished at uni (exams!) at 13 00 but if I'm going off with people to eat lunch I won't make it.

AKB concert:

This would be a great concert to introduce people who have never seen an AKB live before but might be familiar with their MVs. Lots of singles, only a few shuffles that were simply executed. Only one number with a staging gimmick. An announcement at the end that wasn't too drastic. (Just some more shuffling.)

As a veteran fan, though, I was rather bored. Singles festa is lame to me now, especially since I remember concerts of old where the shuffles were nearly the entire thing and were really crazy, and the staging was always creative. I understand why this concert was understated, though, as the focus was on the solo concerts that preceded this, and it's just the Budokan series. Their real focus will be on the Nissan Stadium concert, and the Dome tour afterwards.

This concert was by no means bad, though. It's a better introduction to the franchise than the hilarious clusterfuck that was RH and its way too long MCs.

ALSO TASHIMA HAS AN EYESMILE.

I totally didn't plan on missing the concert but seeing this, I don't feel so bad xP Just looked up the announcements and that's kinda annoying that they cancelled those concurrent members - the new ones sound interesting, but I barely felt like the cancelled ones even got a chance to do anything xP Dome tours sound freaking super tiring o_o

I totally would've watched SKE48's concert if I'd a choice - 31 songs straight through sounded crazy but awesome 8D

It was a pretty fascinating concert when viewing with an eye for popularity politics, both member-member and group-group.

There was a rather disappointing lack of pairings, other than one moment of TakaKoji.

Kyary:

False advertising. Stream began at 14:00, but Kyary's live didn't start until 18:00. So I racked up over 3.5 hours of time for a slice of Kyary. Ugh.
Tempura Kidz made an appearance, which was interesting to see.
Kyary's live itself was really fun, but only lasted 35 minutes.

Pretty cool channel. As in , finally something sometimes j-pop related that's subbed and free- cool.

Harajuku culture is one of the few things that's gone international in a non-otaku sense.
